I recently made some remarkable discoveries about Roger Ebert's opinions about a subject on which he is supposed to be an expert. I talked to a friend of mine who works in the fim industry and he had this to say:
"Up until a few years ago, he provided a dissenting opinion to a real [movie] critic, Gene Siskell. Now hes just too famous to go away. I hate him"
Here are Five excellent movies that Rogert Ebert does not like (in no particular order):
1.) The Usual Suspects
2.) Brazil
3.) A Clockwork Orange
4.) Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
5.) Scrooged
There are plenty others, but that should suffice to convince you that his opinion should mean less than nothing to you. If you need any more proof, just watch the uniformly terrible "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" which he wrote.
The sooner we all start ignoring him, the better the world will be.
