Forums - Sales - USA Pre order Chart Issues

I've noticed that many people are having issues with the USA preorder chart. By filling up each U.S.A. preorder chart thread nothing is going to happen. I've witnessed many good allegations against the US pre order chart but since it is surrounded by many other posts, no one can witness them. If we could have some proof (Ex: Ranking of preorder sales for a game on a store other than VGC) that would be great. VGC is a really great gaming site and they can't always be 100% correct especially when it comes to pre order sales since not all stores give their pre order stats so please don't put all the blame on them but instead encourage them and help them get better stats for USA video game pre orders.

Everyone needs to settle down about the pre-order charts and take them for what they really are...which is a very rough estimate of how a game is doing. There is no way they will be all that accurate unless they get direct data from most of the retailers out there which cannot happen unless you want to give Vgchartz the million or so dollars to get that expensive process started.

You think all of the retailers are going to just let Vgchartz have access to all of their figures for free? No, they'll want a little something in return. And when you multiply that little something by all most of the big retailers in the US you'll have yourself a pretty hefty on-going fee that you have to pay.

The million figure was a complete estimate...it could be anything from around 100k to 10m to do something like that. Either way though, it would cost a good sum of money and that was my point.

I don't really see any issue with the pre-order chart tbh.

People have expectations that it should be near perfect and they are continually disappointed so they complain about it.

The pre-order chart is pretty accurate to me nothings perfect anyway.

So far no one thinks there seems to be an issue but then WTF are there so many complaints on the VGC USA preorder chart? Anyways I'll start off with an issue. (I'm not giving evidence other than VGC just as yet)
God of War 3 had more pre orders than AC:2 (360) despite God of War 3 not having a release date and the hype didn't even begin at that point of time whereas AC:2 (360) was at its final week of launch back in 2009. Now AC:3 and God of War Ascension are releasing...the only difference is GOW ascension has a release date. It was hyped the hell out of on E3 and it doesn't crack the top 50...None of the games have really gotten that much larger or smaller (in terms of sales) in the 3 years but for some reason God of War Ascension is just randomly over 10 times smaller than AC: 3 (360)

I think the reason alot of people have an issue with it is because it is mostly a guess meaning alot of users could do the pre order chart aswell judging by hype and since this is a website claiming error 10% people expect more accuracy. not completely but alot more than what it currently is.

True. It's a very rough estimate.
