Very weird. I just uploaded my index file and images through my cPanel and now they're visible. I was not able to see them when I uploaded through filezilla. Why do you need Filezilla then?

Its faster and its easier to drop folders and multiple files to your server. You also do not need cPanel login info to upload, which is more sensetive information. But in your case, cPanel does the same thing.
When you get tired off uploading your updates to your page manually, you can get a code editor that can edit your files right on the server.
I know web-kit and notepad++(with extentions) can do it on a pc, and they are free. The once in OSX mostly costs money I think. I use Coda.
