LMAO!! Nintendo call of duty main platform? Ok Now they've lost their mind.

Sigh have to post this again:

If you read the thread rather then the title, you would clearly knwo the OP is baiting.

"The Wii U could become the preferred way to play those games for some of the core gamers."

Noting about preferred platform but rather like the Wii, the motion controls become a preferred way for some gamers to play COD. The WiiU gamepad might suit some people, that is all he said.

Not even a quarter of COD users use motion controls....that its a novelty, no. It will not become preferred. Having to look down at a controller with a screen would screw even the best players for sure. Nintendo has already admitted that they are in no position to take on Microsoft and Sony in online as well. Nintendo is late to the party, but leave them to their hopes of being invited. 3/4 of the people who bought a Wiimote don't give a crap about it anymore and the core on Nintendos platform are extremely small. COD has become synonymous with the HD consoles and the Wii U wont be one of them, mark my words.

See, I think putting the HUD on the controller for a multiplayer shooter like Call of Duty is actually a BAD idea, and makes it worse for Wii U players... I mean if I want to check the map while I'm playing on my PS3, I can already see it in view, or I may just have to flick my eyes a little to the side to see it, I can still see the entire game screen so it's not distracting me or anything, and if I want to check ammo or kills or whatever, that's so easy to do. HOWEVER, if I had the Wii U, and wanted to check the map, I'd have to take my eyes off the gamescreen altogether to look down at my controller for anything like that, and for the time I'm doing that I'm vulnerable and won't be able to shoot back at people (Since I can't see them on the screen because I'm not looking at it) so really, I think it'd be more trouble than anything, despite what Nintendo think...

This, This x 1000. Nintendo keeps saying that the gamepad screen is keeping you better immersed in the action. IMO it is doing the exact opposite as it is separating your attention between 2 screens and as a result taking you out of the whole experience example no enemy on screen, look at gamepad mini map, look bac at tv , dead.

Did ANY of you people even read the actual quote?

He said "preferred console"... "for some core gamers".

In reality, the most preferable way to play COD on Wii U is to play on the controller screen. So nobody has to watch you play the game.

Well, only if they'd let me play using the Wiimote-nunchuk combo. Infinitely superior to dual analog for shooters.

Until your arm falls off from having to constantly aim the Wiimote at the screen and move it all around, that is.

That only happens when you handle the controller like a complete retard. The correct way is to hold the controller exactly the same as a traditional controller: with your elbows resting on your lap.

Thank you for confirming that the majority of Wii owners are complete retards.

He was specifically talking about FPS, of which none of your examples are. If you're playing a game focused on the sensor bar usage and not on the accelerometers/gyros, then you want to make it as simple as possible and just turn your wrists.

Accelerometer/gyro games are a bit different...

Wouldnt core gamers want to play the game where the competition is thickest?

I never said it would become the preferred and neither did the guy. but people here are reacting like he said it will become the main platform for all core gamers to use when he clearly said "some", which basically implies Nintendo fans anyway.

Remember some does not  automatically mean a huge number and the most dominating COD sales of all platforms.

Also I see no valid reason in the reply to bash the motion controls of Wii. Just another opportunity for you I guess? We already know since 2006 how the so called "core" gamers feel about motion controls..

In anycase, the few that use it like it. some have cleary stated they like it in this thread and hoping they get that over the WiiU gamepad support. In the end this does not change anything, there will be SOME people out there that will preferred the WiiU gamepad, so his statement is still valid.

To be hoest with you, I think  real core gamers would prefer to play where there is less immature wankers screaming at their televsion and swearing every second word.

lol some of you guys are trying too hard

as for the above comment about immature wankers screaming, it's called a mute button. You might not be familiar with that awesome discovery if you only have done online gaming on ninty consoles maybe. It's a real useful thing.
