Max Payne 3 on PC looks pretty damn sexy but the gameplay is quite obviously the same as on PS3/360. What i'm getting it is all I see next gen consoles offering are sharper graphics along with a few forgettable gimmicks, so no i'm not sick of this generation.

Sick? Hardly. This gen's been amazing. So many great games.

sick? i am just getting started!

yeah i really want next gen (but only next year). we get a ton of new great games like...look at my sig, but i really donÄt look forward to them as i did for games few years ago on consoles. it's not because i lost interest, it's beause i want to see a new jump in whatever the next gen will bring us. i would be so damn happy to play halo 4 for the next xbox!

you guys really went through it all???? i have a back log so long on 360 i could last 7 more years.... and that's not counting what's coming or xbla games...

i want the new gen like any tech geek.... but i doubt you can tell me you cleared all the games that potentially suite your tastes.... ??? or you have way too much time and still a shit load of money... i envy you then haha ;p

yea, same here, I have a backlog of atleast 20 games for my PS3 and I tend to finish maybe 4-5 a year on average

You finish only 4-5 games per year? Do you play on other platforms than the PS3?

To be honest, i dont think next gen will make a difference.

Games are becoming few and too alike. The new gen isnt gonna help with that. You can expect FPS and 3rd person shooter galore.

I am turning towards portable gaming instead. I find that graphics make less of a difference every passing day. I would rather a rich experience that isnt exactly like the other 80% of the games.

Actually... at this point it would be very difficult to convince me to buy a new system. Even looking at the best of E3 like watch dogs and Star wars 1313... it was more of the same a tad prettier. Thats what next gen is gonna be and im not sure i care much about that. Current gen might aswell keep going and reducing costs until we can get games that are more interesting and different aswell as new IP's.

If  I actually found Watch Dogs, The Last Of Us, and 3EYOND to be anything but "more of the same". That's why those titles were praised the way they were - beautiful visuals and something new to look forward to. They may not have re-invented the wheel, but they certainly weren't in the category of "been there, done that".

Ok watch dogs = GTA4/5.

The last of Us = Uncharted

Beyond = Heavy rain...

but, at least they are new IP's so im fine with that. I just think the prettier graphics are gonna last 1 hour until our eyes adjust and then its gonna be the same again. But, at least its new IP's with new characters and storyline so im all up for that.

My point is, a new generation is not gonna help at all with our entertainment. Its gonna be the same as owning an expensive apple product. Its just looks, and the games are all gonna be predictable sequels on mainstream genres.

I agree. WiiU is so old already. I can't wait for next next-gen.

the OP clearly stated he already has an xbox so he's been playing the next gen for the last 7 years by your math.

OT - i don't really need a new gen but i do enjoy buying shiny new toys.  i'm ready to buy into next gen as i really feel i got an overwhelming amount of value out of my current gen hardware.

I prefer to wait for at least until 2 years, because if next-gen won't bring a big leap in graphics like the leap of ps2/XBOX -> ps3/360, I won't get exited as I did in this current gen.

Holiday 2013, if it's later I'll probably just play RTS on the PC until the next consoles come out.
