Forums - Sony - Vita will die without a price cut in 2012

It's not true Playstation Vita has many new IP that make PSVita identity but everyone ignore them they just talk about port to make the illusion that psvita is just like a port machine.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Maybe if you guys stopped debating on the internet and went out and got the GOTY Gravity Rush maybe Vita wouldn't be in such trouble

For Vita? Yes.

Overall? Not a chance. We've already had games like Xenoblade, TLS, Resident Evil Revelations, Mass Effect 3 so far, and games like Pikmin 3, The Last Of Us, Borderlands 2, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Paper Mario:Sticker Star, to name a few, which I believe either currently are, or will be, better.

Not knocking Gravity Rush, but it's too flawed (repetitive combat, meh story so far) to be GOTY material.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Sony will drastically cut the price to save sales. They will do what they have too so they can keep vita afloat.

It seems like everybody who is bored here creates a WiiU will fail Thread :/

Fixed.

Seriously, if you think that 'people want to make a "Vita will die" thread', then you are sadly mistaken. People are merely reflecting on the fact that the launch lineup, whilst not lackluster, lacks real heavy-hitting exclusives, or games until the end of the year, and that the sales of the system are much lower than almost any other console at this stages of its life, and that, at this rate, Sony will be lucky to hit 2/3rds of their Vita's FY prediction.

Vita will 'die' is extreme. But Vita will 'struggle' is much more likely.

I don´t really care if the Vita dies or not. I am no portable gamer anyway. But we had already a few of those Threads. And just statig something that is obvious, doesn´t leave so much to discuss.

It's been few months since it came out and this time of the year is known to have drought in video game industry. Why not give it a holiday then put it in the bin of failure.

It's had a holiday. Infact, it LAUNCHED mid-holiday, and it still never beat the 3DS (I believe after launch week the 3DS was outselling it 5:1 or more)?

As such, doesn't fill you with hope...

yeah, according to Media Create, the Vita has never once surpassed the 3DS in regards to weekly sales, not even launch week (which iirc coincided with MH3G release).  This charts shows the dire state of Vita sales, especially considering that it Japan it was coming off the back of a very successful platform both in hardware and software sales: http://i.imgur.com/QVLS5.png

I love the PSP and thought that it's successor would be similar.  However, I can help feeling that the 3DS has taken the place of the DS and the PSP.  I really hope the PSV situation improves, it doesn't deserve this.

Interesting graph which also shows that the 3DS only fell below 9k the once, price-drop week. Goes to show really, that the 3DS was in a much better position now than the Vita is if we align-launches.

TGS will make-or-break the Vita. And, if MH4 comes out this holiday (November), then that+ WiiU will mean the Vita won't get a look-in.

Of course. It is a Nintendo handheld after all. The DS was the market leader last-gen.

Did anyone ever expect the Vita to sell better than a Nintendo handheld? I know I didnd't.

You haven't played the game......you have no right to judge it.

Out the ones that you've listed and have released, Xenoblade is the only one that I've heard mentioned anywhere close to these sort of lists. Everyone hated Mass Effect 3, TLS apparently is just decent, and RE:R isn't near that tier either.

Not saying Gravity Rush will win over those, but you haven't exactly  provided some great counters that are currently out.

Erm...I have it right here, right in my Vita currently. Admittadly I've only just started I think (Episode 4), but I'm enjoying what I'm playing. But it's far from the 'perfect' game many are making it out to be.

I mentioned in my personal opinion, actually. As I said, I'm currently only just beginning Gravity Rush, and it's great, but I prefer these games more at the point I was in the game after the same amount of time.

And it'll take something VERY special to beat Xenoblade, I can assure you.
