Forums - Sony - I recently got a PS Vita. My review.

That's good to hear, but I'd like to hear reviews from neutral people who bought it day 1, to see if they still agree with their purchase now the novelty has worn off.

Still favorable despite the fact that I've only bought Gravity Rush in the last month plus. I did a pretty indepth first impression review and my initial assessment hasn't changed.

If I hadn't jumped at the launch bundle (included 8GB memory card and Star Dust), I'd be buying now with Amazon's $50 credit deal and would pick up a 16GB memory card with the credit.

While I stopped using it for all the extra general functions that make it more like a smartphone than a handheld game system (web browsing, web videos, videos, facebook, etc.) since I'd rather do those on a tablet when I'm not on a laptop, it is stil a very enjoyable piece of hardware to play games on and make all PSP games instantly better due to the better display, filtering options, better physical controls, etc.

In contrast, one year plus later, I've more or less stopped using the 3DS after buying MGS3D and RE: Revelations; two of the games that compelled me to pre-order a 3DS in the first place.

I remember your first impression, it was very useful! Glad to hear you're still enjoying it, of course. It is a good bit of kit, but I find mine simply gathering dust on the side whilst my 3DS gets most of the attention. Though, with Gravity Rush, that'll likely change!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

You played Vita games in a mall? That's cool. I would never have the guts to play a handheld inside a mall, especially at my age, but not even if I was 20 or 25.

excellent review, I have a vita and I agree with every point you said. Well done man!

Why wouldn't you?

Because it feels embarrassing and I fear that people would think I'm a nerd.

When I sit at home I think, "hey, I could do that. There's nothing wrong with gaming in public" but a few days ago I brought my 3DS to the mall and was going to check on StreetPass (where Miis meet I think lol) but as soon as I had opened the device I got the feeling that people would see my as a nerd so I immediately put it back in my pocket and I couldn't force myself to pick it up again until I was outside the mall hidden behind a wall.

I know what you mean, I felt that way before, as a teenager.

If you use it a few times you realise that people really don't pay any attention to you (sad but convenient in this case, lol), you're just one among the hundreds of people they see doing different stuff. They're not even gonna remember you three seconds after they see you..

You'll get used to it, if you do it a few times and see that nothing happens you'll stop caring.

That's true lol. People usually don't care when you think they will care, and vice versa.

Guess I have to practice.

Well, I am happy for you. I wish I felt like you. But don't you feel the embarrassment even just a tiny little? At least in the beginning, your first time?

Honestly, in my country (Sweden) I never see people that play a handheld in public, except for small kids (under 12). I only saw one guy do it once on the train many years ago.
