It's the first thing I saw, so I didn't bother reading the entire thing.

You think that was bad. How about "for all intensive purposes". You missed that little gem by stopping at
"should of".

OT Kinect will occupy its own niche within gaming, and it's done a great job of convincing a decent number of people Xbox 360 is a console for the whole family. So it's genuinely extended the lifespan of Xbox 360 for at least 2 or 3 years beyond what it would otherwise have been.

Really poor article that doesn't make any sense. It talks about the lack of support for what is actually the most supported video game console add-on ever. It mentions that the price of Kinect quickly plummeted, but I just looked at Amazon, Best Buy, and others and it hasn't even had a price cut.

I think that when played up to its strengths that Kinect is amazing but it doesn't deliver when it's shoehorned into things. I also think that because of Microsoft putting a lot of support behind it that we will see some great experiences from it and its successors in the future.

Steel Battalion looks to be challenging and fun. I'm buying kinect just to play it.

The big hole I find in this is that the PS Move is in a worse position and it gets no article. Wii is winding down but WiiU saves the day.

Kinect is the industries biggest motion interest as of now and this will only continue with next gen Xbox.

Even when you succeed, theres haters.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Kinect is a fother mucking scam, and being a tech hoar, I fell for it. Good job, Microsoft. They won't fool me again though, and I know people won't be fooled by lame smartglass, as if its even comparable to the Wii U gamepad lol.

Sad part is if I trade in that black plastic garbage, I'd barely get $20 or 1600 MS points for it. sorry POS

If you took my Kinect away at this point, I would freak. Last week I was sick and moved my Xbox into the bedroom and as Im laying there, i'm like, I'll finish Limbo. "Xbox Bing Limbo." Nothing happened. I said it three time before I realized the Kinect wasn't there. I go through the menu, get to limbo, play the game. I then go to watch some Tru Blood. "Xbox Apps" Nothing. /cry After the first episode, I go "Xbox next Episode". Nothing. Wake up the controller. Wait for it to register, click click click. It's SO annoying. I use it constantly. All the time. ALL THE TIME. And I absolutely love it and wish I could run my whole TV setup through it. I love that when I'm cooking I can pause the show and go tot he next episode and rewind verbally. I love that when I'm working on my computer across the room I can control the Tv and never stop typing.

And yes. I would pay the $129 I paid for my Kinect just for that feature. And next gen, it's gonna to be in the box for every single user. Mark it down. And THEN developers really have the motivation to use it, when the potential install base is 60 million+ instead of 20 late in a cycle.

exactly that... and i wish you could launch traking by voice command instead of waving... that'd be perfect... and people saying 150 is too much for a hands free 3D tracking and voice recognition device is too much.... has no clue about tech.. not being satisfied is another thing.... but you don't exoect a kindle fire to do what a high end laptop would do same here.. just get a clue before buying things.....

yes, indeed. redicolous that sony's move gets no article. but on the other side, the 100 owners should know that sony's support for move could be way better :)

did sony even mention move at e3?

QFT.  The second someone says "for all intensive purposes", I immediately discount their entire opinion.

Kinect is more for casuals and we all know it. At least its also useful for navigating the dash and marketplace. For us, hopefully Steel Battalion, Fable Journey, and Ryse are good.

Its a "scam" because your all "me me me". Nintendo fans had to share the Wii with casuals for 6+ years! And now people like you are complaining that 360 gamers gotta share with casuals for 2?

gimme a break

Nah you guys analyze too much.

The problem with Kinect is pure and simply down to response time in the sensor, it's totally useless for anything competetive and hence you get "loose" party games and dull racers and what not.

Got nothing to do with the lazy developers, it's simply NOT POSSIBLE to make good games for it, other than those odd wacky abstract child of eden etc, but they would soon wear thin if you had 10 of them on the shelves.

Blame Microsoft, Kinect is an abomination and a disgrace and basically useless.

Move on the other hand is something quite good.
