Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft not attending Gamescom and TGS

http://majornelson.com/2012/06/14/xbox-changes-strategy-for-gamescom-and-tgs/

As you saw at E3, we have a solid line-up of games launching this holiday, along with other entertainment experiences. We’ve changed our approach a little, though. This year, Xbox will be focusing on smaller, more localized promotions and experiences for press, partners, retailers and customers around the world. Which means that as you might have seen on some of the news sites today, we won’t be taking part in gamescom orTokyo Games Show this year.

Both are still  important shows for the industry, and we do wish the organizers well.

=================

after Nintendo,Sega and THQ,another company not going to gamescom 2012

TGS...well,since no one care them i can understand

Around the Network

Only means they couldn't secure a deal with SquareEnix for Versus13 or a Kingdom Hearts Game.
So no reason for them to even attend there cause they wouldn't have any interesting things to show at all.

no Sega no THQ no Nintendo no Microsoft. Sony, Square Enix, Ubisoft and EA will get the most attention. I hope EA will introduce Dragon Age 3.

So MS gives up in Europe (except UK) and Japan?

Think Microsoft will be busy with Windows 8

This is fantastic news for the PS3 really.

Have the potential now to make some big headlines.

Also you are beginning to see the downfall of electronic trade shows, their purpose is quickly fading with the advent of the internet, twitter and instant information. No real need to showcase when you can have a big audience at pretty much any given time.
