"bundled heavily" huh ? it was only bundled in "others" between 13th of July and starting november (that's when starter packs became very rare) and wasn't in every bundle available .. I'd be surprised if those bundle accounted for more than 500k of Resistances sales (actually I think it's more in the range of 300k-400k)

The first Resistance wasn't bad, but it's pretty obvious a lot of its sales came from being a launch title. Look at how Red Steel sold a million on the Wii, or how Raving Rabbids 1 did better than its vastly superior sequel. Apparently it's also been bundled a bit. The biggest problem with reaching 4 million is how crowded the whole genre is. Gears did well because there wasn't much competition during the 360's first year, and Halo is Halo, but Resistance 2 isn't standing out anywhere near as much as it should for that level of sales in 2008/9. Of course we still don't know much about it, so let's wait and see. |
Sorry but having both RRR titles i can say that Rayman Raving Rabbids is MUCH better than it's god-awful sequel. Most, if not all, critics agree with me.
OT: Resistance was a great launch title so i believe people who bought the original will also buy its sequel. 550k First Week worldwide seems about right to me, lifetime sales around 2.75-3 million, 4.5-5 million if it's bundled.
