I think we all need to keep in mind that if Nintendo charges a lower price for their epic first party games, third-party publishers are going to be extremely upset and likely jump ship because they can't (or don't want to) be as competitive in pricing. It will devalue their offerings.

It felt strange typing this out, as it's completely backwards to the regular ideals of competition in a market.

Nintendo has been underselling third parties on 3DS, i thought, so they might try it, but you raise a valid point.

I didn't think about that being another reason to make 3rd parties not interested in the Wii U. Hum...

That was an insane time. I remember buying Mario 64 and Shadows of the Empire for $80 each when I got my N64. And people say games are expencive now. HA!

Edit: Also the minimum wage at the time was $4.25 an hour.

I've seen WiiU games up for £49.99, but I've seen them for £32-40 as well (Although 1st party games are generally more expensive). So it all depends on where you buy them. Most Wii games in my local Tesco are still £35+ (Zelda, NSMB, Mario Kart) Nintendo games seem to hold their price longer compared to Xbox & PS3 titles.

Especially Nintendo 1st party games.

Not sure about the $ prices but it's gonna look like that in Europe:

First Party games? €59
Third Party games? €69

Third parties complaining that their lower quality games don't sell at a higher price point? Priceless...

All the Game.co.uk Wii U game pre orders are priced at £49.99. Admitadly that doesnt mean too much yet.

In Japan games will probably cost 5800 (73$) or 6800 Yen (86$).
Keep that in mind when you think 60$ is outrageously expensive...
