What price can Nintendo get away with, with WiiU?

Under 250$ 11 4.21%

250$ 38 14.56%

279.99$ 19 7.28%

299.99$ 105 40.23%

349.99$ 73 27.97%

379.99$ 1 0.38%

399.99$ 7 2.68%

Over 450$ 7 2.68%

Total:261

I hope it will be around 299.99 but 350$ seems plausible as well; especially if they include a game, most likely NintendoLand and I wouldn't that mind. The game kinda looks fun! hahaha. I'm really excited about the Wii U! The idea of having a touch screen while playing both onscreen tv and having the pad is great!

Going off what Iwata said:

The least amount they could get away with would be 250$, bare minimum however.

That would be epic, but from that saying I guess it would be safe to say 299.99-349.99 will be the range where Nintendo will ultimately price the Wii-U.

Well, the reason article about (someone) saying that we might think the Wii U Price is a nice surprise might add more weight to this.

I guess my expectations are high, but I'm expecting it to be $400 right out of the gate.

$350 - $400 for the first year until they ramp up production of the device.

Well there's an interesting "ideal" when it comes to setting prices. Think for a second. Nintendo at first saw the 3DS worth $250 when it launched. With all the technology in the Wii U do you believe Nintendo would only price it at $50 more? I don't. The sweet spot is obviously $350. The maximum is $400 which I know Nintendo would love to use but $350 is more ideal.

NINTENDO

When I think of get away with, I assume a price the people would begrudgingly be willing to pay for...so tat is $349.99.

In terms of Reggie though, if they were to somehow keep the price at $250, they would not have to drop price for at least 4 years provided the software is proper. If they pull a 3DS with the games though, $250 would be a mistake that makes the console look cheap.

$299.99 is perfect**; It is more expensive than the original Wii's price and the current PS360 prices, proving it is actually stronger and 'new'.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

If the system was going to sell at a good price they would have revealed it on E3 and boast about it. I think they would most likely sell it between $350-400

And what happened to the 3DS? That it didn't sell enough so they had to do a drastic price cut that made them lose money.

They won't make the same mistake again, at least that's what I think, and after what they showed at E3 I expect a max price of 300 $/€ without a bundled game.

And unlike the 3DS, nintendo is facing serious competition on the console field. They can't afford to test the "high price" waters like with the 3DS. They got to hit it smack on and hard.

I wouldn't be surprised if they would sell the wii u at break-even to maximize their headstart.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I noticed most answers are around the 300-350 mark.

would anyone be willing to pay $400-$450 if it come with a 320gb HDD, 4GB of ram and a newer video card then rumored?

or at the end of the day since its a Nintendo and potentially lack of 3rd party, it doesn't matter if they increased the specs
