Portugal's defence has probably been the best in the competition so far. Pepe and Coentrao are particularly brilliant. Certainly better than England and probably Italy, although the Italian full backs have been good. 

That said this was definitely Germany's easiest game so far so I don't think we've learned an awful lot tonight. England or italy could do them, of course, but they have to be heavy favourites and tonight won't have done them any harm.

Can any of the German fans here explain what was up with Schweinsteiger tonight? Is he unfit? Tired? Apparently he had a whinge in the papers about how tiring it is being captain, is that it?

How do you people stand it? I watched the England - Ukraine match on ITV the other day to try and get into the spirit of things and good god was it bad. Andy Townsend is something else but I think I might dislike Chiles more, the smug little prick.

lol what? did you even understand why you should maybe let other players play against greece? no clue what they tell you on english television but it was pretty obvious that it was a tactical decision against that greek wall and not because of arrogance or whatever funny things you are talking about

i always like to read your posts about the german team in this thread, you really have to hate us a little bit if i remember all of them correctly^^

i mean, if you don't understand tactical decisions and don't really know the german players and why these were better against greece, no prob but you don't have to call that like you did. it's very disrespectful and arrogant to talk like you ...oh wait...

Pepe's great when he's not pretending like he just got shot, which is only about 80% of the time he's on the pitch...

Pray tell me what other player doesn't do the same? Not defending those attitudes, I just think it's a bit ironic to single out a player for something that the grand majority of players do as well. 

Oh well, been loving all this talk about how terrible some elements in our team area. While we do have our weaknesses, I don't think we have shown anything remotely close to "terrible".

Then again, I wouldn't expect anything else.

Not saying others don't do it as well, because that would be incredibly naive, but Pepe is one of those that takes it above and beyond others.
