immune from criticism, where did that come from,i still think spain are the best team in the world and i don''t think fringe players they pick make much of a difference to iniesta and xavi

i admit they probably won't win this one because winning 3 in a row is pretty special but spain are capable of it becuase of their poccession style of play

I'm not going to argue this point any further, but you stated 'did i just read that right, someone complaining about spain when they are world/euro champions, that is an absolute classic' so yeah you did imply they are immune from criticism.

I agree with your point about them not winning 3 in a row, but I genuinely believe they are a great team, one of the best ever, but just like Barcelona they are a plan A team with no plan B whatsoever, admittedly plan A is very very good.

They could win it though, only a simpleton would state they definately won't, but I just think Germany has improved from their naivety they showed against Spain in the last world cup, and Russia & Netherlands are up there also.

fair enough,i think we are going a bit deep on my comment,i was talking from a happy spanish fan point of view as a whole winning the last 2 tournamnets,i wouldn't be too disaapointed if they didn't get out of the group, but being english i jsut be happy if we could make a few passes in our team

I've been following England for nearly 3 decades, and  I quickly learned to accept we can't pass,  as much as England piss me off to watch because they're so god damned annoying I'd still be gutted if we don't get out of the group, which is a likely possibility. Have a better idea after monday, hopefully after a 5-0 win against the french.

we were pretty good in 1990 but the germans did us and i remember 1986 aginst argentina what a great game that was in mexico my first proper world cup as a tv viewer

i'm not convinced about us against the french but what makes us dangerous is that we score goals even without knowing how, lol, oxlade chamberlain looks good because he can just drift pass players which is what you need but he is still so young but i'd still play him over walcott, infact i'd play rooney upfront with oxlade-chamberlain drifting in the hole when everyone is allowed to play

the french have better players than us as a whole i think and blanc looks like he has got them together, looking forward to the age old battle with the french on monday

Great game by Denmark, they're taking good advantage of the fact that Holland is completely broken in the midfield.

Why are De Jong and Van Bommel playing as defensive midfielders? They really need to bring Van Der Vaart out or else they won't be able to turn this around. It really says it all when Holland's best chance has been a massive mistake by Denmark's GK.

really wouldn't have expected, that Holland with all their super stars on the pitch don't manage to score a goal

nah, that looked unintentional to me - hand was there before Huntelaar kicked the ball

Denmark was very good. Portugal next!

Holland really have only to blame themselves, the amount of missed chances on the second half was right down absurd, especially Robben's header and Huntelaar lack of reaction time in front of the keeper.

Was that a pen right at the end? It was too close to call, since the Denmark defense was already with his arms open when Huntelaar kicks the ball in a very tight space, so it's pretty impossible to say if it was an intentional move by the defender or not.
