Re: Launch games - The list is extremely telling. WiiU is f---ed before it even began. The 3rd parties are clearly vetoing WiiU.

No Activision. - World's largest publisher. Notta. Most telling - No CoD:BO2.
Virtually no EA - After they had the head EA guy on stage last year talking about how they are working together. End result - One port of a 9 month old game. Not even EA Sport Active 3 (their top selling Wii game). No Dead Space 3. No Madden. No FIFA.
Capcom - Long time ally. Squat. No RE6...
Square Enix - No Tomb Raider. No Dragon Quest X - ?

Ubisoft came out swinging. Did for Wii too and it paid well for them. Nintendo should just buy Ubisoft. Having Assassin Creed, etc exclusive would do them wonders.

No one prospered more from Wii than Sega. In return - Two games for Wii U. Must admit - releasing Sonic Kart prior to Mario Kart looks like a winning move.

Other publishers: Not much to see here.

If support is this weak to start... WiiU will need Wii-like sales out the gate, and even then it'll be a long wait for Activision/EA/Etc to jump on board. By the time they decide too, they'll be too busy making games for PS4/720 which won't be compatible with WiiU.

according to the list above 58% (18 of 31) are nintendo or ubisoft.  wow.

No Dragon Quest X should tell you the obvious: it's an incomplete list.

Some people are really overreacting today.

I agree.

At first I was really mad at Nintendo for their conference, I don't really know why... maybe it was because there was too much talking? But then I thought it over and realised there was nothing actually that bad with it. Is that what you are thinking, Mr Khan?

Absolutely. I'm gonna buy a Wii U day one or near it. You people remember me why I left VGC lately. I just want to recall that this is the launch lineup, which IMO I find very excellent because I won't be able to buy all those titles I want. What's wrong with you? Give it a chance, 3DS had such a poor start and now everyone just loves it. Faith, you know? The doom and gloom of a console isn't just based entirely on a stupid show you're watching once a year. I feel like I'm surrounded by heroin addicts who always need more to be satisfied O_o

What's so wrong with the Wii U? I like it, sounds very good to me.

It was bad showmanship, and didn't have the one thing i really wanted to see (that is, the Retro Studios game), but it makes Nintendo's strongest hardware launch since the GameCube, since pretty much everything at that show is going to be here before April 2013. It's not the right way to reveal a console, but it is a powerful lineup for the timeframe in consideration.

Oh, and that's the other thing to think about Dragon Quest X. Not likely to make the launch window in North America (Japan is another story)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Man nintendo will not get my money this time around microsoft and sony are going 2 kill nintendo this time around

And why's that? Nintendo has a very solid line-up for their Wii U.

I'm going to wait and see the lineup. I'm afraid that big games (Assassins Creed, Mass Effect or Call of Duty) will be on XBox And Playstation instead of Wii after we get deeper in the generation.

That lineup is so pitiful both in terms of 1st and 3rd party support that it almost makes me cry, this is a new console for crying out loud. Why can't the Wii U have ports of all of the major 3rd party PS360 titles coming out this fall and next year, we know its capable?

Where is COD BO2, RE6, MOH, Tomb Raider, Crysis 3, Borderlands 2, Dishonored, Watch Dogs, Hitman, Bioshock Infinite, Need for speed, Devil May Cry, EA Sports titles, Metal Gear Rising and I could just go on and on. After everything Nintendo said about having 3rd parties on board for their new console, I don't really see much of any 3rd party support. Or are they planning stealth releases for these games? At the very least release all the good upcoming 3rd party games on the platform, not ones no ones cares about or ones that are almost a year old. This truly makes me sad seeing Wii U is meant to be a next gen console, yet it doesn't even get all the current gen titles.

im sold, it has the best launch line up ever

The GameCube launched in North America with the following twelve games:

All-Star Baseball 2002

Batman Vengeance

Crazy Taxi

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2

Disney's Tarzan Untamed

Luigi's Mansion

Madden NFL 2002

NHL Hitz 2002

Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader

Super Monkey Ball

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3

Wave Race: Blue Storm

Compare this to 7-8 games being released by Ubisoft alone.
