Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo's E3 was underwhelming

I thinks its safe to safe that all of the big E3 conferences sucked hard.

Well, I'm more interested in what they are giving the 3DS, which is tomorrow right? I don't expect a console to release with a plethora of games, and certainly don't think it matters if I find out about a game today or next year, if the game is coming after next year. There are plenty of other games to care about. The 3DS on the other hand has been on the market a bit, and I expect next year to be its first big boom in game releases, similar to the DS.

It was solid. Too much focus on Nintendoland, but they showed off what the WiiU could do, and showed 3rd party games. And lest we forget there's another half tomorrow for the 3DS.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

You didnt like it Turk?
not very surprising, sure Sony conference was amazing for you...

Only thing I wanted to really see, but didn't, was the new Super Smash Bros. game. Possibly they can show it tomorrow, since the 3DS-Wii U connectivity?

I can't believe this. They're launching the Wii U with.. ..?!

Hmm, a game that's bigger than every other game showed at e3?

Launch is fine... what they didn't showed is the future of the console, which sucked

It was just ok, at best. I understand they need to show some games more focused in the casual audience but they should have finished with a big hardcore game, even if it will not be ready in the launch window. However, Sony wasn't much better and Microsoft was actually worse. It seems Ubisoft was the only one to put a real show at this E3.

For me Nintendo had the worst conference.

Where are the core Nintendo games, Stafox, Metroid Prime, new IPs. We got nothing!

It's was their's to lose and they lost it.

Mario and Pikmin are enough, Nintendo doesn't put out 5 games a year anyway. Usually they put out one or two big releases and a few smaller ones. Especially since they've taken for years now a stance of not anouncing games until they're almost done.

They're not enough for me. Nintendo showed more casual games then they did core games. Words can't express how dissapointed I am.

I'm fine. I have a PC and other consoles to keep me content, if the Wii U won't give me what I want. I had trouble keeping up with releases this last year, Skyrim and Zelda month was crazy. I'm very busy, and I really don't have the time nor resources to put into 5 games. Pikmin and Mario are fine, especially when there are a few third party games I'm interested in. Also, I don't realy like the term casual, as I found the mini-games implemented to be quite interesting. I could see my mother and I, or even some casual friends at a party, playing the luigi mansion mini-game, it seemed to have a decent amount of depth. So as far as titles go, I have Dishonored, War Dogs, Mario, Pikmin, Elder Scrolls Online, Skyrim expansions, and various 3ds games to look forward to for certain, with plenty of other games I'm  contemplating getting. My problem isn't a lack of games, but a lack of time. So overall, not only am I fine with Nintendo only announcing two games, but it's actually preferable. If Nintendo is your only video game company, I'd consider revising such a decision. Games are too spread out over platforms these days to own one console and enjoy it all.

You couldn't be more right.  As much as I'd like Nintendo to announce more core games It's not like I really have the time to play them.  I still haven't beat the new zelda and xenoblade.  I was too busy playing Civilization, ME 3, and Skyrim.   I also agree that a game with solid multiplayer minigames is a selling point for me.  I play wii with my gf and her family quite often and it's fun.

It's pretty funny; many people at GameSpot were claiming that Nintendo was going to win E3 after Sony's & MS' conference and would constantly post this gif:

It backfired on them. It managed to be worse than MS.

Aye, the key to remember here is these are all launch or launch-window games.

I'm crushed, I always stayed by Nintendo even during it's toughest times. I honestly feel like Nintendo abandoned me.

Nintendo was my last hope for gaming. I don't care about all of the mainstream games that everbody else does. Nintendo to me was the my last hope for gaming. The only system I now is the 3DS and Nintendo has burned me so bad I honestly just might stop playing games. I'm that crushed

I'm an advocate for motion controls, Nintendo, and Kicking freaking Toad to the Moon!
