Forums - Nintendo - Black Ops 2 on Wii U? 3 Clues point to YES

On G4, Geoff Keighley was interviewing Treyarch's studio head Mark Lamia about Black Ops 2, and they were showing off some gameplay. At the end of the interview Geoff says something like (i'm paraphrasing here, but check the video) "and you'll be back tomorrow to show off another level with a different kind of gameplay". As we all know, tomorrow is Nintendo's big day, so that is clue #1. "Different kind of gameplay" is clue #2, because my prediction is that he'll be showing off how you control drones with the wii u tablet, which will undoubtly be completely diffferent. Clue # 3 is the fact that Treyarch has developed numerous games for the Wii, so they obviously have a good working relationship with Nintendo. Obviously this is speculation, and a bit of an educated guess, but what do you think? Is it possible that Black Ops 2 will release for the wii U with full tablet utilization & unique gameplay options? And if this were to happen- how would it help Nintendo's chance of success with the Wii U?

Activision having a lot of money and liking a lot of money is the biggest clue to me.

Well i'd say that would be a big deal if it's true. How will "hardcore" gamers react when they realize the wii u version is in full 1080p, 60fps, with extra tablet functions, which would make it an obviously superior version...

For Nintendo: I believe the hope is that many of those truly hardcore CoD fans will buy the Wii U to get that enhanced experience.

For Activision: More money. One version is always going to be "better" than the others, that's a moot argument. IIRC millions of people bought Battlefield 3 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 even though the PC version is leagues ahead of them.

l imagine most of the bros that play COD won't be too fussed about 1080p and higher resolution textures, PS360 already runs at 60fps and most of their brofriends are also playing on PS360.

Interesting use of the term bros, lol. My guess is that many "bros" will give in and buy the wii u for the enhanced experience. 360 doesn't constantly run at 60fps, and its 720p, not 1080p, honestly the system is starting to show it's age. These things actually make a difference to the "bros" hahah.

@bolded I know, and not even 720p, sub-720, like reeeeaally sub-720.

I guess maybe it would make a pretty big difference in person, like demos in stores and such. But on SD ads? Nah. Don't see it making a big impact. Could be wrong of course :P

Wouldn't be the first time CoD was onstage at the Nintendo conference. They tried pushing it at E3 2008, something largely forgotten because of the general awfulness of E3 2008...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
