Everything I've heard from Halo 4 is tight as hell. I'm not surprised though, I was down with the idea of Davidge as soon as I heard it. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking he's an excellent choice.

Well it is certainly growing on me.  Not an easy task to replace a soundtrack that is one of the most famous ones in the world of videogames...

New Jackal design

Halo 4 will give level-creators the tools to realise " just about any design you can think of," according to franchise director Frank O'Connor.

"The environments will be large enough to accommodate just about any design you can think of, from a Lockout remake to a sprawling racetrack," he said at Comic Con in response to a question about Forge.

"There will be rolling hills, flat, sterile spaces, big, flat indoor areas and everything in between. The difference is that we’ll use more than one environment – an aesthetic – rather than a giant contiguous space like Forge World. There will also be HUGE FLAT JUMBO Coliseum “walls” that you can instantly place as enormous floor tiles (or walls)."

The result will be the best-looking Forge creations to date. "All the spaces are being designed with flexibility and performance in mind. The inclusion of a new lighting engine and some unique palettes will make things look more varied and connected. Some simple examples – you can make Lockout and The Pit with relative ease and plenty of room. If you want to do something giant and meandering, you’ll have to incorporate some of the environments' existing features (hills, cliffs etc)."

Halo 4's Forge mode is in the works at third-party dev Certain Affinity and will ship with the shooter on 6 November.

Halo 4 – Better Than Call of Duty: Black Ops 2?

By Prarthito Maity | July 23, 2012 8:53 AM EDT

The upcoming “Halo 4” could spell bad luck for the eagerly anticipated “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.” As per the latest Neilson ratings, “Halo 4” has topped the charts for the most wanted game on the Xbox 360 for this year, overtaking “Black Ops 2” on its way.

“Halo 4 continues to be the most coveted title for Xbox 360 gamers, though Call of Duty: Black Ops II has now inserted itself at the top of the list for PS3 gamers (ranking a close second on Xbox 360 as well). For Wii, Just Dance 4 debuted in the top spot,” says the report.

Apart from “Halo 4” and “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2,” “Madden NFL 13” has maintained to hold its position in the top five for all three consoles, with three other titles making the top 15 across the consoles as well; “Need For Speed: Most Wanted” (2012), “FIFA Soccer 13,” and “NBA 2K13.”

Moreover, apart from “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2,” other titles that are not releasing on the Wii but have high marks on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 are “Assassin’s Creed 3,” “Resident Evil 6” and “Borderlands 2.”

The anticipation level among gaming consumers was derived from leveraging several key consumer metrics, including Awareness and Purchase Interest, into one overall score. That score was then compared to scores from all previous games released on the same platform at the same point in their release cycles, to determine the percentile ranking of the upcoming title (aka the Nielsen Game Rank).

“Consumer data was derived from online interviews of 4,823 male and female active gamers (those who own at least one current generation console and actively play on and purchase games for that console), between the ages of 7 to 54. The timeframe for the data collection was June 3 to June 30, so consumer measures may shift further as marketing efforts heat up over the rest of the year,” the post further said.

Elsewhere, “Halo Waypoint,” which is considered to be a key source of all things related to “Halo,” has just got updated with something called “Halo Array.”

As per the official page, “The Halo Array is a collection of seven ring-shaped superstructures built 100,000 years ago. Though they at first appeared to be peaceful habitations, in reality, they are weapons capable of destruction on a galactic scale.”

A video, along with cool narration, has also been posted to give you a better in-depth of the things.

“Halo 4” is slated for a November 6, 2012 release on Xbox 360.

I don't in any way expect Halo 4 to outsell Black Ops 2 on the 360, but this survey still made me happy.
