Meh I guess since the Covenant lost the Huragok they dont have the maintenance for shield tech. The ship did look beat up.....before Infinity rammed it.



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

If you watch again, they don't actually show the first moment of impact. They show just before impact, then it goes black for a split second, then it shown a fraction after first impact.

This is the best explaination so far. 

 

I just saw a gif on Gaf and it seems to show the whole event without any breaks and yeah, still looks like no shields.

Well based on the new Halo novels, the Elites dont have Huragok to maintain their ships. Think thats the reason why. Covenant ships have shields on automatically, only removing them to fire their plasma cannons

Yessir, you are correct. I'm no lore expert but I do remember that from FOR. With that in mind, I'm gonna say that your reason makes the most sense.
