Blizzard has quietly launched a beta for Starcraft Arcade, a marketplace which monetises mods.

Although Blizzard’s mind-blowing digital revenue plans are interesting enough on their own, you want to get in on this action ASAP because it may net you access to the Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm beta.

Downloaded it. Played a practice match. Lost to reaper bullshit on that stupid map Blizz took out of the fucking map pool a year and a half ago. Was mildly impressed with the UI. Went back to Vanilla SC2.

HOTS Beta access isn't too exciting because as soon as it is released, someone will implement all the units and models with stats in a custom game for normal SC2, so everyone can play it.

This happened for Blizzcon but it fell off because the build shown was so imbalanced, e.g. the literally unstoppable gas/pylon proxy cannon rush.
