Hey guys I am going to buy a Gaming Notebook, because my old one is almost dead :(

I had an Asus and was all in all very happy with it. But now I want to buy a "real" gaming notebook for 1200€.

My favs. would be Asus G74 G53 or Alienware M17x but I am not really sure which one I should pick. Or if there are better and cheaper options.

Specs:

GPU nvidia gforce gt460m min

Intel i7 min

and 8GB RAM

I hope you can help me.

Not really any better options out there. I would go with Alienware.

Alienware is probably one of the worst options for a gaming notebook unless you are made of money

Of course, but considering his budget and requirements, alienware is  out of the question.

For £1000 (his budget) the best alienware he can get is:

Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM

6GB DDR3

GT555M 1.5GB

750gb HD + DVD

Compared to this non-alienware laptop:

Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM processor

8GB DDR3

GTX 560M 1.5GB

1TB HD + Blu-ray

Oh srry i didn't see he had set a budget. On the assumption he has a HD computer monitor already he could buy a tower.

I found this on amazon for $ 999

Technical Details

Intel Core i5 Processor 3GHz

8GB SDRAM DDR3 RAM

1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Alienware AX51-0066BK Desktop

If you're going to be spending serious time playing games, then get a gaming desktop (much better value) and a lighter, more portable laptop for the same money.

Better option: Buy a PC for gaming. A cheap laptop for your other laptop-y needs.

I have one

I need the Laptop when I work and don´t get home every evening. And I need it for study. And because I love to play games I want a gaming Laptop

I got the Asus N55SF http://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Multimedia_Entertainment/N55SF

It's not a dedicatd gaming laptop, but I love the design (most gaming notebooks are ugly imo), the non-glare display is very good and it can run any modern game, e.g.
