New flash, not only does draconian DRM fail in preventing piracy but it also serves to generate even more. As soon as Diablo 3 is cracked and uploaded I will pirate it. I want to purchase it but that's absolutely not going to happen if I need a constant Internet connection to play single player.
Case in point, Spore. The restrictive DRM wasn't present in the pirated version so why on Earth would I pay money for an inferior product? By the looks of Spore's sales, its presence on torrent sites and the complaints against its use of SecuROM I can infer that the DRM only hurt its sales.
