yes it can, the difference is how much resource is dumped into the project, kinect is not worth the price if it's just a voice rec tool.

In order to do it for all these games the developers would need to create their own speech recognition api, and dedicated a bit of power to that system. With Kinect that is all of that is already done.

that's the thing, MS could have developed it for their standard mic that's included with every 360, they are just being dicks. please don't defend kinect, every gamer knows it's fucking stupid deep in their hearts if all they do with it is voice shit.
