I expect at least another 50-75 thousand in Japan as well. It could be higher as bigger games come out on the 3DS and push system sales through the roof this summer around the world. |
Hmm that's a big number for worldwide sales considering the 3ds install base isn't that big in the west and games in japan dont have long legs/I am guessing 600,000
Games in Japan dont have long legs? xD .....oh wait
1m ww
500k for Japan, easy
I know 3 people (including me) that will buy any console just to buy whatever Fire Emblem game is available in the US. So while it is a system seller for a dedicated fan base, it has never cracked 1 million in global sales which is really disappointing considering just how good the series is for people that give it a chance.
I hope the next Super Smash Bros causes even more people to look at any future Fire Emblem games because that is where my interest started.
As for prediction... I think it will be 800k to 1million global. It could do a lot better if it were to be launch title for a new console but not as a late release. Especially with the current trend of releasing in Japan and then maybe 1-2 years later releasing in US.
It's worth noting that Fire Emblem is one of the series you really, really can't trust VGChartz numbers on for older installments. Not too long ago, FE6 was listed as the best selling Fire Emblem, with lots of sales internationally (despite never having an international release). There are other examples of them being completely whacko, too, and contradicted by official stuff a few times. The GBA ones, especially, are completely unreliable.
A bit more on topic, I'm predicting a million sharp. 500,000 in Japan, 500,000 internationally.
JP- 480k
EU- 200k
US- Will not be released there...OK I jest, 220k
Overall- 900k

Wasn't Radiant Dawn released during lauch window for the wii?
I see another 500k+ coming from the west with a 70/30 split (NA/EU). Japan still has a tail on it so lifetime sales will probably be...
922,347
Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. " thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."
Does anyone know how much does this need to sell in order to make a profit.I mean it is the first major fire emblem game since the gcn to have high level production value and actual marketing

The production values are higher, but it's hardly a home console blockbuster - I imagine that they've already payed off development costs
