I think we get enough information from Chart-Track and GFK that the software estimates are reasonable. It's rare to see a PSP title to even sniff the top of the charts.

He has a point..

How come that a game like daxter is not on the software list;..WHILE IT IS BUNDLED WITH THE PSP...

If psp sells 150k so where are the 150k of Daxter software ?

Because Daxter isn't the only bundle.... I'm sorry but isn't this comon sense? You've been here more than long enough to know this Konnichiwa.

Here, look. Last week in North America PSP hardware was at about 77K. Daxter was at about 33K, and Star Wars Battlefront was at about 21K. That means about 55K of the 77K PSPs sold were bundles. The others were old PSPs.

There is nothing confusing about this. It's quite logical. PSP software sales as recorded by every tracking service in the world are bad. It's great that they sell better in your area, but that's not the worldwide situation. Everyone understand?

It's not bundled in Europe... it's only bundled in America.  Same with Star Wars Battlefront.  Again, you should really know this.

So where in Europe is this Daxter bundle available?

And in case you were wondering, the UK has no bundles, but the rest of Europe has Ratchet & Clank and Ridge Racer 2 bundles. At one time there were also Simpsons and Spider-Man bundle special edition PSPs (Simpsons was a unique yellow and Spider-Man was a unique red), but they were only for a limited time. A game called Pursuit Force was bundled for a short time too.

PSP bundles are created and canceled quite often.  In Europe you can buy PSP Slims without the game though, so it's understandable that those plus original fat sales result in less bundles sold.

I think because most games are under-tracked.

Well, I guess it's offered in a couple countries. Hard for me to really keep track, because it's certainly not offered all over Europe (Not in Germany for example). I'm sure ioi (and for that matter chart track) know where it's bundled and where it isn't though.

If ioi and Chart Track were very different you may have an argument, but Chart Track completely backs up current PSP software sales numbers. PSP Software doesn't sell well because people simply buy PSPs for more than just software. People buy them as media players.

To keep it simple,
1) PSP is easier to hack than the NDS
2) PSP hack costs you almost nothing since it is a firmware hack, for NDS Homebrew Booting accessories cost from 45-60$/Euros.
3) Most PSP games have been ports of PS2 games with a few features tacked in such as AD-Hoc multiplayer etc .. Gamers are not going to shell out 30-40$ for the same game they own on the PS2.
4) Just like the Ps2 initially, more people are using the PSP as a media player (mp3,mp4) rather than a gaming handheld console.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>

Yes I know that not al PSP packs are bundled, but during some weeks there were almost 200K PSP sold in Europe only, so I just can't believe that more as 185K wasn't bundled according to Vgchartz.

And about the Shelves, the store were I was talking about had a week before a real shitload of PSP games, but when I came back a week later almost all platinium games were sold out. The 10 Daxter, Locoroco, Everybody's Golf, Pursuit Force and 20 Wipeout Pure, ... games were almost all gone, I only saw 1 Locoroco, Pursuit Force game and about 4 Everybody's Golf and Wipeout games.

Of course this can be local, especially if you know that in Belgium Sony products are more popular then Nintendo and Microsoft products. :)
