I believe Shiggy's '05 quote is referencing the holographic projector. I'm not sure that anyone outside of Ninty R&D has actually seen such an accessory or can confirm its existence, but this rumor has been so pervasive through the industry for so many years that its generally acknowledged Nintendo probably does have such a device and are sitting on it until the market is right. Atari is confirmed to also hold patents on similar 3D projection technology (leading some to conclude a year ago that Atari's Wii Jenga game would include a tabletop projector -- something which would've made a lot more sense than playing Jenga on a flat TV).

Ubi even gave a tip of the cap to the rumor/non-rumor with their nifty Pinocchio mock-up at the Ubidays conference. FWIW, I don't believe the mock-up being a Pinocchio-like head is an accident either ... I think it was Ubi's jab at Ninty for either hinting to such a device which probably does not really exist, or repeatedly hinting at Wii's "last secret" but still not delivering it.

Head tracking vidoe was freaking awesome.

They just have to make a game that is able to use that.

There is a possoblility that they know and wait to come out with those games untill the sales start to frop off.

When you've got an IR camera eye as a component of your primary controller, there's an awful lot of potential. The fact that it can track 4 dots, but currently only uses 2 dots to track motion, may well turn out to be an important point. How I'm not certain, but it's something to consider.
