Okay, it's 3:38pm Pacific USA time...

Are they making a FF7 remake yet? Has someone asked them since 3:30pm?

UPDATES, PEOPLE!

I emailed them twice this morning & asked if they had any intentions on making a FFVII remake. They strongly & clearly affirmed that they had NO intentions on making a FFVII remake. They seemed a little ticked off in their second response. They even threatened to block me if I asked again.

I'll email them again in a few hours just in something changes.

Thank you very much for keeping us posted on the latest news!

UPDATE: Just checked with Square again. They say they're not working on a FF7 remake, but they're probably lying. I'll keep asking, daily.

Keep a good lookout, soldier! It's only a matter of days until they finally announce it... only a matter of days.

Maybe on it's 50th anniversary.

I wish people would get over this topic already. It's stale and boring.

Like I said,

Sony has publishing to FF7 in America and in European regions.

FF7 will not come unless it's for a very good reason....and a favorable deal to both Sony and Square-Enix....basically

They have the publishing rights to the original FF VII, but not the remake. If this would mean trouble Nintendo would have protested against the various FF ports on the PS1 and PSP.

Final Fantasy IX was published by Squaresoft in Europe, but the platinum version was published by infogrames. So that shouldn't be a problem.

This just isn't true. If Sony has any rights to any version (it's not clear that they do), it's to the PS1 version alone. They don't have rights to the PC version, and there's nothing indicating they'd have first refusal rights for exclusivity on a remake.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the PC version. Another company published that one.

Like I said,

That's how Publishing worked back in the 80's and 90's, and that's what Sony does for a living.

So if you want to try and prove Sony doesn't have rights, the onus is on you, because Sony did publish that game.....and really, that's a period.

You won't see Final Fantasy 7 without Sony's say so.....and thus, you haven't.

PS...to Zuhyc......it was Eidos that put the PC version out....hence, Square-Enix

Ironicially it was Eidos that published the PC version and SE now owns Eidos.

Actually, that's not how evidence works. You can't ask for evidence that something didn't happen, only that something did.

Do we have any documentation suggesting that Sony has right of first refusal for a remake? I'm willing to bet that we don't.
