Yo, what's going on everyone? My username is Raidou (obviously) but my real name is Jared. I've been searching for weeks for the right forum and community to join. From what I've read and seen, I think this is where I'm meant to be. I've been a gamer since the age of 6 years old. Like many my very first console was an NES (which actually belonged to my brother) but the console that started it all for me was the Sega Genesis. The game that first got me hooked was Sonic The Hedgehog 2. I've played and beaten the game so much that I almost know the layout for nearly all the stages!

My primary genre of play is RPGs but I dabble in a majority of the other genres like fighting games, beat em ups, SRPGs, etc. Some of my favorite video games of all time are Yakuza 4, Jade Empire, Sonic Adventure, Persona 3 FES, Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Saints Row 4, Skies of Arcadia, Final Fantasy IX, among many others. I also own a few different consoles (PS2, PS3, 3DS, Vita, and Wii U) so I don't follow the whole console fanboy thing. There are too many good exclusives to be missing out on lol.

Now, me personally, I've begun my journey to becoming a 3D Character Artist. I draw a lot of inspiration from Cyber Connect 2's Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games and their new Jojo's Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle. I love their character models and their animations. Truly amazing! And of course I can't forget about Blizzard's amazing art. Both 2D and 3D. My goal is to reach that level of quality. I'm going to reach it. I have to. I feel like this is what I'm meant to do with my life. I wanna be apart of making characters for video games, movies, shows, books, comics, the whole nine yards! Like I said, I just started and I'm having an amazing time learning my program. I'm using Modo 701. I know 3DS Max, Maya, and Zbrush are mainly used in the industry but I find Modo so much easier and funner for me. Anyway, I'll just end this by saying it's cool to be here and I really hope to talk to some of you and even game with you too! Guess I'm gonna get back to filling out my game list. Sorry for making this long. Catch ya later.

Pretty cool gaming history, the Megadrive + Sonic 2 bundle was one of the first game systems I got New was one of the best Xmas presents I ever got my grubby little child hands on. Nice spread of systems you own now too, I'm the same when it comes to gaming, if you wanna fanboy 1 system or company you are going to miss out on a whole load of great games, no idea why anyone would do that. You pick up anything cool in the Vita Easter sale? just getting moto gp 13 and guacamelee now.... altho lol if you noticed buy that on the ps3 and it's cheaper + gives you a vita license for the game too.

Anyways welcome to the site mate, if you've not been lurking for a bit I really advise you take one look at the rules on here, there is just 16 of them http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/forum-rules.php#content but it's safer to have a fast read since the moderators on here will crack down on some things pretty fast, especially from newer users, it does mean that you wont have to fear trolling or flaming on here tho, just feel free to use the report button if anyone is being an ass to you and then you can get back to posting in peace while the mods do their work on the offender :D

Happy postin

Ah there is always going to be a point when even the most kind natured poster gets into a heated argument with someone else and crosses the line :) You grew up on NES gaming tho, if you can take some of the unfair shit some NES games threw at you you should be more than fine here haha :D

Main thing to take from those rules tho, is just to never enter a "who can insult the other person more" competition, you see um a fair bit here and yeah once you "win" the other person will happily click report and you get sat out for 3 days to bask in your victory hehe, just saying that mods can't read every post so if someone is being rude to you just report um rather than be rude back, that way you bring the moderators attention to the thread and you can let them deal with the trouble maker.

Your happy posting and various people threatening to kidnap you were good times... now you've become hardened by all the offers of candy and free rides in peoples internet vans.

Well as the name suggests, I'm Heiny Reimes :).

After being a gamer since 1979/1980, I finally decided to go into the gamesindustry and use all my skills as a concepter and graphic artist to this new table. But if there is something I learned as an old illustrator for Hallmark, it is to go out and check what the people like and why. So this is kind of my mantra: "By gamers, for gamers and 'with' gamers".

So one things I've been doing is trying to mingle among other gamers, since that is something I am myself, but now with the aim for not just trying to find the games I like, but checking what everbody else likes.

I've always been doing alot of research as an informationjunk and do like to spread the things I know(why I am already crawling around this network for years, I just love statistics)... But I do like to put my money where my mouth is, so that's one of the reasons I finally made the big step and try being a part of it all on different fronts.

Hey all, Skidonti here.
I've been a lurker for at least a year, and I made an account back then for a couple of one off posts under another name, but I've since lost the account and now have decided to actually join the community with a new persona!

If you don't count the slew of (mediocre... okay pretty lame) children's PC games I played as a kid, the first real videogame I got was Super Smash Bros Melee upon obtaining a Gamecube in 2002, for a birthday. I think the compilation of so many franchises in one really captured my imagination and curiosity, and I've spent much of the following decade exploring the storied history of Nintendo that I was first exposed to there. Age of Empires was a huge part of my first steps into gaming as well. I'm working on building a bit more hardcore rep, if you will.

I primarily enjoy playing action adventure, strategy, and (mostly J)RPGs, And I somehow got really into this numbers game. I like learning about the business and understanding the hows and whys of this industry many just look to for fun. So I hope to see you around in discussion. :D
