Forums - Sony - Dream come true: Sony and Panasonic to cooperate on OLED TVs

This is great news. The sooner they get a bunch of these on the market, the sooner the prices will drop. I love OLED tech, but $9,000 for a 55" TV is a little out of my budget. I can't wait for a 55" 4K OLED TV. I want it NAO!

Sensible. Both companies are bleeding money, joining together should basically halve R&D costs and greatly reduce production costs.

Yes i'm waiting a while to upgrade my TV want a sub £1000 around 32-42 inch OLED TV before i would consider purchasing. So yes i'll be waiting quite a while.

PSP Lifetime more than PSV+3DS Lifetime.

desperate times call for desperate measures

I Agree 100%

I'm worried about Samsungs and LGs quality of OLED screens, these companies are infamous with their quality. And with all new technology it will have problems. Both Sony and Panasonic are known to produce the best LCD and Plasma TVs.

I'm sure the 2 Korean companies will not release their OLEDs this year, new TVs tend to release in the first few months of a year. This year they push their Kinect-like ES8000 series TV.

Besides, the first OLEDs will cost 8,000 euros, as if more then 100 people will buy them at that price lol.

what the hell are you talking about?

Thats just wrong.  Samsung make excellent sets and some are the best around.

Your bias is beginning to get ridiculous... you just make things up.

not to mention Sony gets their LCD screens from Samsung....

What the hell? That is a misconception. Sony doesn't get its LCD panels from Samsung. They set up a company called S-LCD wich delivers both Sony's and Samsungs LCD panels. Sony's TVs are also driven by their Bravia engine.
