I am offended by two things in this thread.

1) Somehow it became a pro-Canadian thread.

2) That Chicago was not mentioned. It's just like the big East Coast cities, but clean and more friendly.

and with lots of crime, corruption, and debt

That's America in a nutshell.

He said that he wanted to move here.

EDIT: In response to your question as to whether you should. That's down to you. I wish to move to America because I love the culture, the politics, the institutions, and the optimism. Those things may not appeal to you. I'm personally gunning for a state like Arizona... lots of hot weather, a beautiful desert climate, and a relatively short distance from all the great cities of the South-West. The South-West, in general, is my favourite region as it embodies a more libertarian nature compared to other regions (Pacific = liberal, North East = moderate, Mid-West = conservative, South = neocon).

I just found this amazing.  You love the politics.... lol maybe if you lived here you would see how bad our political system sucks.  Both major parties suck.  Two party system completely sucks when compared to multi-party.  The electoral college can suck a dick.  Do you know the approval rating of Congress right now?  I believe it is around the low 10% at best.  Basically, no one in the USA thinks the politicians are doing a good job because they aren't.  They bicker over stupid shit like gay marriage and abortion while the country falls apart.  Just trying to warn you of the situation.

Yeah, it's the exact same thing, here. Except, there is no question about ideology here. Everybody believes in big government. I hate that.

Multi-party is no different from two-party when all the parties believe in the same thing.

do you have an accent? girls over here will be lining up to go down on you if yes.

Is it only the British accent or Viking accents as well?

umm...don't know what a viking accent is specifically.  but in short, not just any accent will work.  european in general is considered "good".  other places like asia not so much.

Viking accents like Icelandic, Danish, Norwegian etc.

This is an example of the Icelandic accent:

Her voice is so peaceful.

Sorry didnt bother reading the past 10 pages of posts lol.

But from what I've read, you want to move to the US somewhere around New England area, I would say I agree with Ninpie and go to Canada.

Also what do you mean by "older"? How many years are we talking about?

If its anywhere between 10+ years, I would say no.

Potentially between 5 and 7 years.
