Isn't the 3DS already surpassed by smartphones in terms of raw power? If so then why do a thread about PSV's raw power? Why only suggest PSV should be a smartphone when the same could be said about 3DS, if it's just about power?

Is it because PSV is selling so badly? the reason for that isn't because it's not a phone. The reason for PSV not selling is: lack of major system selling games, and price. Perhaps if Vita had the el-cheapo and free games that are available for smartphones It would be a selling feature. It doesn't need to be a phone though. Kinda surprised they don't have a dual boot option: Boot up Android for apps, boot up Vita for Vita games.

Funny thing is, people are flocking to pay double the price (nearly) of a PSV but people are looking at PSV as a dog for the price it's being charged. Apps and phonecalls / texting really make people willing to pay kinda crazy prices. But that's because people have been trained to pay high prices for phones.

yea, if the vita had a TV-out and dual boot it would be perfect for me - I don't even need a smart phone, but I really want a ~5'' device that can output 1080p movies (various containers/codecs) on TVs and can access the internet via wlan/has a browser

Around the Network

This is NOVA 3

IGN review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUosC9cQFjo

  1. Online gameplay with co-op and versus
  2. 83 on Metacritic
  3. Controller compatible, just pair one of your choice through bluetooth. Can be a PS3 dualshock.
  4. Unreal Engine 3
  5. 5$

I don't know your thouthgs, but since it is raw power the flagship feature sony has to sell the PSVita and smartphone games already look an play like this, I'm not confident about the handheld's future.

Hence the comparisons.

3DS is not being compared to smartphones because:

  1. It is selling well
  2. Unique interfance with dual screens is still the only one in the industry.
  3. Great Nintendo portable IP
  4. It was obsolete at launch hardware wise, nobody is expecting it to be a powerhouse. Despite Resident Evil Revelations being one of the very best top portable games at this moment.
EDIT: Can't embed video, neither from the multimedia uploader, neither from HTML editing.... A little bit frustrating humm... I'm using Chrome here.

Oh well, we've just put it out there in the universe now, so it might come back in the form of reality.

I still won't buy a Vita because I don't do HH gaming, other than stuff like Sudoku. And buying a PSV for Sudoku seems a bit unneccessary when I can do it on my old Android.

wow man you guys all need a drink, this shit must be damn depressing to go this far, how completely sad.....

haha yea, other than pokémon blue I didn't really play anything on hh either (and I would have prefered that on a home console tbh), but tearaway and the cross buy stuff looks quite intresting - well, maybe they'll introduce android and a tv-out in a later revision of the vita
