Ah, one of my favorite argumentative technics: the "it could be even worse." Let me summarize this discussion:

Me: Having pornstars share our hobby is very bad.
You: Yeah, well, it could be very, very bad, if it were criminals and junkies and pedophiles instead of pornstars.

So while I agree with you, this doesn't change the fact that the original premise is very bad -- just because something else is very very bad doesn't affect that.

As a side note, I actually had someone argue with me that Stalin wasn't so bad because Hitler was even worse. Yes, that's a hilariously extreme argument, but the same rules apply.

Honestly, what's wrong with them? Some may be sluts but do no harm to nobody.

Oh man... you don't honestly think that? I mean, they obviously don't like video games! They do, however, know that the porn and video game fan bases intersect (this thread proves it), so they're paid to say it (or even if they aren't, they'll say it anyway if they're smart).

But come on now... no one honestly thinks they actually like video games (in general)!

I think half (or all) of these are bullshit, some of the answers they give just arn't realitic, for example they are as thick as a bar of soap there's no way they know Sonic where's sneakers or anything about Uncharted.

 Bod, okay, so pornstars aren't criminals. They are minor celebrities. What makes it undesireable for "pornstars" to share the same taste you do in videogames? Does it alarm you that many people who enjoy the same videogames that you do also enjoy porn? Boogie Nights was a great movie.

Alarm isn't the right word. "Not celebrate" would be a better term. I'll repeat it succinctly: why would we be happy to discover that tasteless people have the same tastes as us?

Again, it's not a big deal to me. It's like finding out that a bunch of hicks like the same music as I do. Would I be "alarmed?" No. Would I be very happy to discover I have the same tastes as the uneducated, boorish and crude? Also no. And that's the only problem I'm having here: I totally agree that we shouldn't decry such affectations, but why are we happy that some floozies have the same interests as us?
