looks goof to me. and a 2 year warranty. I wonder if they are refurb consoles or all new(for the first purchase, i am sure replacements will be refurbs.). If they are launching this I am sure they are going to be beefing up the services too, so hopefully more content. If only they would let the xbox be a dvr maybe i could get rid of one my fios boxes (which i think i also pay 15 a month for)

This could be a way to get their Xbox live service to be more expensive. Subsidize 360 for 99 and 15 per month that includes online access.

Xbox 720 comes out and suddenly online is still 15 per month and no console subsidy available.

I agree. Its a worry of mine. As long as it stays cheap enough its worth it for me. But too high and bye bye. It could also mean a split in services. Perhaps a different fee for online play (or free) and a fee for alll the content they have.

Interesting move, could work out for them if they offer the right package at the right price.

I guess the bundle would be cool for those who dont give a damn about online.

?? it includes a Live Gold subscription.

It sounds like it would include the fabled "Diamond" service where it includes TV services, music services, and all the regular Gold features, plus an additional year warranty.

If you are going to be using all those features anyway, then it's a great hardware deal.

99 + 15 per month over 2 years is 459 dollars
299 + 100 for XBL gold 2 year membership is 399

I have to see how this plays out, but as it stands it doesn't look all that hot to me. Only if the subscription includes a Zune pass/Woodstock whatever pass and some extras is it worth it.

Shouldn't that be $459 or $419? I thought Gold was raised to $60/year. With that it is like paying an additional $40 or so for an extra years warranty coverage (360 no longer is 3-years standard right?).

Considering you get to pay this all off over the course of 2 years, this deal seems really good to me, even if you could save an extra $20-30 by getting Live sub cards.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

If this ends up doing well I would expect it to make it's way from being a MS store deal to an online deal.

True. But anyone that isn't in dire rush to get gold membership can find it for 50 bucks on sale at least once per month.

Overall really bad deal, however, ignorant people will buy this since its a lower up-front cost. ugh....

Sounds likely, just having it in MS stores is a great way for them to test the waters without risking a total flunk of a experiment in every retail store.

MS desperately wants to get those gold subscriptions up before e3, lulz

not a bad deal for those who want this
