Yeah it took me about 40 hours to get through the game.  I just took my time, explored around, talked to people, tried to see if I can get some extra quests and stuff, going back and fourth, etc.  People really need to start enjoying the games they play instead of rushing through them.

I wanted to get through the game as soon as possible because there is a lot of side stuff that doesn't open up until you beat the game once, namely the paradox scope and some monsters don't appear until after you beat the game for the monster fragment.  It didn't take me 5 hrs though, that is a bit ridiculous.  I think it took me just under 25 to beat it and now I just need the damn Serendipitous trophy for the platinum at 48.5 hours.  It is annoying as hell.
