LMAO! then I guess MS waved the white flag years ago with that blant rip off eye-toy they like to call kinect?

Nice logic please dont post anymore and waste more space in this thread with this stupidity.

BTW I have been around N4G and other forums(GAMESPOT) and with this reply you gave me its becoming more and more apparent that forums(in general) are indeed getting dumber, I thought at first it was just N4G thats bad now Im not so sure.

So, people are getting dumber by pointing out Sony's recent lack of originality (which is accompanied by lower sales)?

What kind of alternative reality do you live in?

Sony's recent lack of originality
Doesn't Sony have the most originality this gen out of the big 3 hardware and Gaming wise?

SCEJ LOL

Yeah yeah...vote PullusPardus for Sony CEO!

Nah, I say keep the money in SCEA, Pullus as CEO would only sell games to mostly Japanese and probably lose most of the North American gaming audience.

And he would force a change of art style of most american games with this:

my god..I just said enough wasting space with this dumbness. =.=

If lack of originality = low sales WHY does eye-toy rip off kinect sell well or how about basically every FPS out there that plays and looks just like any other shooter we played before? come to think of it i dont see you speaking out about MS lack of originality or how about halo? another shooter really?what about Wii U? trying to go all HD like ps3/360? pshh....

again for the last time STOP posting garbage.

Underlined: That is not always true, but in Sony's case it is. Why buy the Move if you already own a Wii? Why buy Sony All-Stars if you already own Super Smash Brother Brawl?

The Kinect is not a copy of Eye Toy, it is a vast improvement.

As for your FPS-example, it is just like buying milk. You know you like it, but you will always have to buy new milk to keep it fresh.

The Kinect is not a copy of Eye Toy, it is a vast improvement

by this logic you would be required to agree that Crash Team Racing is not a copy but a vast improvement to Mario Kart 64 and that none of Sony's kart games are copies of Mario Kart.

Gaming wise? No. Nintendo was the most original out of the big three by starting the whole motion control trend.

Hardware wise? Yes. That price tag was indeed excessively original.

Wait a second.................

The only way to kill other players in the game is by using your Super Moves? Ok I was excited to play this due to the frantic fun I was planning on it having but if the only way to defeat people is builing up to do a Super move and no one takes damage other than that...............wow thats way lame.

SuperBot's development team contains some fighting game veterans and they know what makes a game "hardcore" and competitive. I say put a little faith in them before writing it off completely.

Its hard to see it with this system actually,  in a 1v1 this would be boring since you can kill someone with just enough meter and would get predictable as hell, they will be playing the cat n mouse whenever one fills the meter. They could be veterans of fighting but the smb franchise is radically different form other fighters and would have to be really a fan of it to understand what made smb so good competitively.

I have not played any of those Sony games.

Because they are getting less original as time goes by. It all started with the analogue stick, a more recent example is the Move and this is the final nail in the coffin.

They haven't tried copying franchises before.

Edit: Also, what do you mean by "dumber these days"? Have you been lurking for years? Or was your old account permabanned for some reason?

do you really think any console would of released in the seventh gen without any analogue sticks? Sony, Sega and Microsoft all saw how useful of an input device the analogue stick was so they included their own version in their controllers, its taking what other company's do and putting your own twist on it, every company does it, and they do it because it works

lastly about copying franchises, I remember similar style threads (although not as popular) when LBP Karting was announced, people were shouting rip off just like they are here, and you know what, I honestly didn't care what other people thought, I was excited to hear that announcement and I'm excited to hear this one, I own a Wii, Mario Kart and have played SSB (I didn't enjoy it to be fair), and you ask why would you buy a game this game if you own the Wii equivalent already? Simple. I want to see Sony characters, I want to see Sackboy vs Kratos, I want to see Sly vs Jak vs Ratchet and I want to see loads of Nolan North voiced characters fight it out on stage, this game was created for people like myself who wanted to see these battles, and the game will sell reasonably well because of it

Bolded: Wut? Of course not. I would not expect a completely redesigned controller in the middle of a generation though.

Italics: Well, I'm not responsible for threads made by others. If you're exited about this one and enjoy the final product then that's good for you. If the final product reach poor sales though then that's bad for Sony.

Underlined: Let's hope you're right, for Sony's sake.

???

you mean the original fat Xbox controller?

or maybe you are talking about the Wave Bird?

Not even comparable. None of your examples included any additional buttons, let alone analogue sticks.

Sales wise, yes.

As for that vido you just provided: If Nintendo was unoriginal to copy that system, then what was Sony who eventually copied Nintendo and made an almost exact copy without any notable improvements?
