If they don't give that info by June then when? They need at least a few months of buzz, hype, and pre-orders to correctly identify early demand.

Aside from that, I'm expecting a lot of games. That is what is by far the most important thing. GAMES!!!!

Telling the price and date is a double edge weapon, the players can start pre-ordering the console and creating buzz about it, but the competition can also start preparing for it, adjusting release schedules, anounce price reductions, etc. Also the price can be modified at last minute depending on the pirst production line real costs and E3 hype.

The release date will be narrowed, instead of "before the end of 2012 in all territories", it will become "before thanksgiving in USA, Before Christmas in Europe", but the final dates and prices will be given in august/september as Nintendo usually does.

Not really, since SMB3DL was made by only one of the EAD groups. I wouldn't be surprised if EAD1 (they made Galaxy 1) were being trusted with producing a  Galaxy Spinoff/brand new 3D Mario Title for launch.


While i agree that 2 3D Mario's and one 2D Mario  in a single year is extremely unlikely, you're forgetting that 2D and 3D Marios are different, and you're also forgetting that 3DS releases have been top priority for Nintendo to increase sales on the console in the last 12 months.

Now, given the importance of Mario, and the high expectations of Wii U graphics, i would say Nintendo made a mistake  by making another 2D Mario for the WII U Launch (this is obviously what we're expecting in November), but regardless they need to show HD Mario in a 3D environment in order to seel the system.

I suppose you're right. I'd love to see a 3D Mario game for WiiU launch period at E3, but the New Super Mario Bros. Mii game would be more likely.

I think the 1st party games to show off the graphical capabilties will be the new Zelda, and Pikmin 3. Also, I'd expect Monolith's new game to really show off the graphical frunt, but I'd imagine we won't see that for a while...

And of course, Assassin's Creed, Rayman Legends etc. from 3rd parties. We'll know soon enough!

Upsettingly, there hasn't been a huge amount of leaks yet about Nintendo, but there's certainly been a fair bit of hype! What can the WiiU do? I know for a fact I'll be there at 5 to watch...

I'm probably over shooting this as I usually do with Nintendo at E3, but here's what I think/hope -

For Wii:
- Price cut
- Pandora's Tower in the US
- DQ X info
- Epic Mickey 2
- Maybe one or two more "Wii" brand game

Wii U:
- Pikmin 3
- New Mario game (either 2D or 3D, or a small chance they show both)
- Assassin's Creed 3
- Rayman (showing off the e-reader thingy on the tablet controller)
- New Wii Sports/ Wii Play
- New Warioware
- Star Fox
- showing off their new beefed up online system, maybe cap it off with an online Pokemon
- Mario Paint 2? O_o

3DS:

- Super Paper Mario
- NSMB 2
- Smash Bros
- Donkey Kong Country
- ..no idea beyond that..

if Nintendo show 1 new game for Wii that we don't know about I'll be surprised, unless it's that Pokemon game that was announced a year ago and disappeared.

For Wii U, I'd like to see Nintendo show something unexpected for the launch window. Unexpected means not Pikmin 3 or NSMB, and also not a warioware/rhythm heaven or Wii Sports type game. If they can manage two new IPs in the launch window that are directed at western gamers, with one of them being character based, I'll be extremely happy.



Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!
