LED by far is better. I Heard some talking about lag. Well where you using a high speed HDMI that cost about hundred bucks or did you cheap out because this well make all the difference. I own this tv and have not seen any tv look or play better. Plasma is junk and if you want to buy a product that dies rather quick, then I would go that route. I would say you pay for what you get. If you don't use the right cords with what you buy, your tv will look like sh-t. I have had no lag issues Accept when I forgot to change over the HDMI to the better I had bought. This is a great tv and I would stick with 240Hz.

I'm just going to completely ignore what you said with LED vs Plasma, I have a few more pages of comments to read through and I'm sure people have already torn you to shreds for saying something so stupid. I just want to say that cable quality does not matter, some make break easier than others and may not fit the port as well, but it's a digital signal, it either looks as good as it will get or you have a blank screen.

Ok then you come to my house plug in my old HDMI and look at the difference.  It is night and day. I'm not the only one that had this problem either. So i have tested it. You acked as if I didn't. I did and it made a night and day difference. No need to explain to VGchartz though, everyone here knows everything and I bet not one of  you have 240 Hz TV. So I didn't pay anymore because I talked them down. As far as dependability, LED's beast  Plasma's.  You  can read all you want, the point of the matter is I live in a rich neighborhood. So I know people who bought more tv's then you have seen a best buy . LED's  are what everyone is switching to or wishing they would have bought. So do they look nice? yes. Are they piece's of Sh-t? YES.  So they finally fixed it, is that what your saying. Well maybe but I will not be taking the plunge. One because the new ones have not been out that f'ing long. How the f do you know how long they last. You went to the future and got results.

So they say they last longer but all the proof in the past says they don't. The amount of people that I know had Plasma's break on them is a joke.Ten times Worse then The RROD issue. So a buck short and a day late. I got a 6 yr old samsung and it's lcd, running fine. I did replace Compacitors but that is it.  lets not forget that I have had friends plasma's break numerous times. Like 2-5 times until there warranty was up and then they said F plasma's.  However in the last year you say they fixed all the problems. I doubt it.

So haggling with the guy at Best Buy and replacing parts on your shitty old LCD sounds like a cheap ass' moves to me. Your meltdown here is showing how full of shit you are dude.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

@spaceguy

If you were rich you wouldnt even think about electronics breaking after 5 years. Because you wouldnt care how long your TV holds. And get a new one as soon as there is a better model if you are interested in this kind of stuff. Why do you even have a TV if you are rich and like this stuff so much. Where is your 500k Home Theater ?
Upper middle class is far from rich.

Why are you even mentioning a ridiculous 90 Dollar difference for a cable who cares ? Why are you even mentioning prices rich means costs are secondary.

I have had this conversation with many people over the years and yet some still bought plasma's, Almost every single one of those plasma's broke, not easy fix's either. So does VGCHARTZ fanboys always know everything, yes and all the time. This is why most hate this site and don't come back. Unbeleviable.

The HDMI Issue is real and only did I notice it until I was on my 55" and had a 240Hz tv. Maybe the other cords are just made sh-tty that could be the case but I just don't see this being a problem a couple times over. The guy at best buy through in a free cable. So does that mean he got the best of me because he gave me a free cable. WOW!!! Looks like you are all broke and angry the cord is so much. However if you knew how to haggle, then it wouldn't be so much now would it.

There are a lot of problems in the past with PLASMA... today PLASMA is another story.

I think only people who can't afford LED's are the people talking up Plasma's, I just do not see what your going on about with a tv that is bulky and will die rather quick. I have a LCD samsung that I bought 6 years ago. It started not wanting to turn on. Well, I went to radio shack, spent 10 bucks and bought new Compasitors. Installed them and the tv works great. Maybe if some of you knew what you where talking about then maybe I could understand. This tv I'm talking about is now a bedroom tv and I upgraded to a Samsung - 55" Class - LED - 1080p - 240Hz - Smart - 3D - HDTV. By far looked better then any plasma there and I have had no issue and games look amazing.

What you mean plasma's are bulky? My plasma is like 2cms thin and it costed me 1500 euros, around the same price of a comparable LED tv.

LOL Plasma will die quick? Stop talking lies buddy, Plasmas have now 100,000 hours before the phosphors are half as bright(half life), this means watching your plasma for 18 years/3hours a day.

Face it, Plasmas are superior. People preferring LEDS fall for all the hype in the store: "its so thin!" "its so shiny!", stores WANT you to buy a LED, thats why they are in better settings then plasmas in stores.

When its time to replace my Samsung plasma I'll go with a Panasonic, the VT50 plasmas are near perfect, not there yet with the best TV ever made but almost: Pioneer Kuro 500A

We don't agree when it comes to gaming platforms but we are cut from the same cloth regarding this matter. Funny you mention the in store hype and Spaceguy linked Bestbuy as they are universally known to be THE WORST for their tv settings in stores. I bet the asshole working there talked him into his tv purchase along with that completely stupid HDMI cable.

I'm happy we agree that plasma is the best bro :)

A lot of my neighbors are a lot better off then me and tight as sh-t. Also buddy, I do have other nice things. So am I worried about the cost? not really but if they are going to give me a deal, what I'm going to say, no I have enough money, don't give me a deal. Your smart dude!!! Oh I could have had samsung come out and fix it for free but I wanted to fix it myself. you think that because I have more money then you, that I don't want to save or try things for myself. No my theater is polk audio and around $2000 for it.

So you all tested the new plasma's. cause they where still having problems a few years back. So now there fixed and your sure of it? That sounds like a prediction and just random bull you pull out of your arse to prove your case. Thats awsome.

Hey smart guy. I'm over 30 and own my own house. I created my own wealth because you play games and don't work don't mean that the rest of us do the same.

Your job obviously doesn't require a basic understanding of technology and signals then.

If you didn't want so many people to attack you in this thread, try being less ignorant and more open to the points that other people make next time, especially when they know far more about the subject than you do. Also, try and be a bit more modest and stop referring to your "wealth" in every god damn sentence you make, that is assuming that you aren't completely talking out of your arse.

I've already said all I've had to say on the subject of HDMI cables, and I'm pretty sure that everyone else has said all they've had to say on the subject of LED vs Plasma, it's everyone's word against yours, if you don't want to believe us then fine.

You assumed and also made a arse out of your self. You think that because you read all these magazines that proves the tech. No, time proves the tech. So you have no proof but what others tell you. So how smart is that, not very.  Funny if I told people around me about this, they would laugh in your face. LOL I did push it but because this site is a joke.  Most of the people in this site talk out of there arse non-stop, including you. So don't act like you are so smart and don't talk out your arse and assume sh-t because you do and so do all the others on this post. I don't care if you all jumped all over me. It's the same as every thread. There is a one sided view on this site  and usually extremely biased and based off stupidity.

Aww poor young kid thinks he's smarter then everyone else.  LED has been proven, fact. Plasma has not. You can link what you want. If the HDMI cable didn't make difference I would have not changed it but it did. So great read but I seen the sh-t, so f-ck you link buddy. I'm telling you it made difference. Maybe the cable was sh-t but it looks fine on my 720p 60Hz tv but not on my 55. What do you own. O' yea not a 55 or a 240Hz, You got a f'ing link.

Eh. We really have totally different definitions of rich. My parents are upper middle class. They both make comperatively to the average a lot money. And still dont spend without giving a thought. But I know a few really rich people. Talking about money is like the worst offense you can commit. Gloating about prices of some cheap items is like saying. Hey look at me I am poor.

2000 thats nothing. I cant even hang out with some of my childhood friends without spending insane amounts of money for basic stuff.

I know rich people care about money but 1000 isnt really considered much money when you are rich. You wouldnt care about 10 Dollar that much and give alot thought about your 25 Dollar purchase would you ?

Why did you even bring your rich neighborhood up ? Your argumentation is flawed you say people who cant afford LED buy Plasma. Thats wrong here are probably alot people who can afford an Highend LED but still buy Plasma because it has a superior quality thats FACT. You are talking like Plasmas are poor mans LEDs. Despite them being the most expensive in the past and LCDs for the poorer. Now we have LEDs who need tons of complex technology just to be barely as good as Plasma.

Then you are arguing it breaks sooner while saying you live in a rich neighborhood (noone cares). But you dont even know what rich is. Sure rich people look out for their money. But if you earn 3000 Dollars a day JUST with the money you already have plus what you really earn. You stop percieving a 2000 Dollar purchase as much money thats not even worth thinking about. And thats still poor rich.

You have no clue how exactly LED/Plasmas work your HDMI cable argumentation shows that clearly. You fell for some sales speech thats all there is to it. Plasmas might be bulky/energy hungry, thus way more expensive to entertain, but they still offer the best picture quality.
