If you were rich you wouldnt even think about electronics breaking after 5 years. Because you wouldnt care how long your TV holds. And get a new one as soon as there is a better model if you are interested in this kind of stuff. Why do you even have a TV if you are rich and like this stuff so much. Where is your 500k Home Theater ?
Upper middle class is far from rich.
Why are you even mentioning a ridiculous 90 Dollar difference for a cable who cares ? Why are you even mentioning prices rich means costs are secondary.
