Yes. Several roles exist where it would be better to not claim them. Trouble is fakeclaiming can be very dangerous. Linked roles like sibling should never be claimed(or at least not until quite late in the game) if both players are town, because it gives mafia a 2 for 1 special. It's still better than being lynched though, so I could see a panicing newb revealing it.

No, no, no. If he is a townie, then he is a sibling. Regardless of his switching stances on the setup and random declarations of everyone being town, the distractions can be tamed. Possibly losing a second townie is not worth shutting him up by lynching him.

Well he's clearly making much more sense to me than you are. He said pretty much what I said earlier:

"You could easily be mafia, but you're right that far too many votes have been thrown down without any reasoning. No lynch(good or bad) is as meaningful if it's all just bandwagoning."

No body else acknowledged that simple townie fact. We can't just kill each other! That gives him alot more credit already in my eyes seeing as I was trying to push that throughout Day 1 this far.
