I'm not surprised actually, there was only two possible explanation for his behavior either he was the FN or he was scum not wanting to help town.
I don't like that he valued his life more than the good of the town though.

Actually, MUGEN, I wouldn't have minded if you outed me, since that was our plan, but I'm happy to do it myself.
I'm not the Friendly Neighbor ... because there isn't one! I'm a friendly Recruiting Mason! 
(Which is totally not a cult, I just recruit like they do.)
Night 1 I snagged MUGEN, just because I thought he was a pro-town guy who wasn't a huge target, and I was INCREDIBLY fortunate to have a jack of all trades on my side! Night 2 I wanted SM128, but I got blocked and he died anyway, which was pretty surprising. Night 3 I got morenoingrato, another safe pick.
I gave some good general tips to MUGEN, and in return he's been outstanding in picking specific targets. I wanted him to investigate you, TOS, but instead he kills Rol and investigates spurge and what do you know he gets scum both times! What a guy.
