Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft Results FY2012 Qtr3. 1.4m shipped (67.2m)

It feels like they overshipped - that 8.7m Wiis Nintendo shipped in late 2010 was based off of similar Q4 US numbers and they needed six months to fix it in the US (Europe was fine).

The March 2012 shipment figures are far worse than the drop off in sales would normally indicate. They've had similar US figures and shipped substantially more than this in the past three March quarters.

Wow, 2nd worse Q3 results since 2008.

And you totally won't make this post when/if Sony ship the 2m they expect next Q.

It's funny isn't it, Microsoft posts better results than a lot of people expected, and that is all some can come up it. :S Perhaps he forgot were 3-4 years further in the gen than 2008.

I'd say it's more sad but Turkish comes out with the textbook rubbish you expect from N4G.

pretty solid numbers considering the whole industry seems to be going down. It's funny how the other thread about people predicting the quarterly numbers expected less than 1 million shipped yet more than that 1.4 were actually shipped yet people are still trying to make it look bad lol at people here in vgchartz

ha ha ha hhhhaaaaa

priceless

my god you're soooo desperate arent you.

You must be gutted.

If they ship 1.8 next qtr... and that is very likely.  FY2012 is the best year ever for Xbox.

Why would they ship more next quarter?

Likely Price drop?

A price cut is coming for sure with these numbers. But I expect all consoles to be down. This is the lowest shipment in Q3 since 2008, that's shows longevity on the 360s part.

I wouldn't rule out USA completely because of NPD, there is room for error on their part - an extra 500k in the past 6 months would definitely fall within the margin of error, with the remainder spread out thru parts of Europe and emerging markets.

The 8.7m Q for Nintendo was preceeded by Ninty's first ever 'low' Q of 1.9m, the following 3 after that holiday Q were nothing to do with stocking problems, more just Wii fizzling out.

360 isn't 'substantially' behind this Q vs past years. Like I already said, it's always been in a 1.3 - 1.7m range. Apart from last year which was because of shortages in Q4.

Add both previous Q4 + Q1's together and the're within 0.6m of each other. You're just desperate for the 360 to start faltering so Wii doesn't look so terrible!

No, NPD is never that far off. Why is it so hard to believe that the 360 can sell well in other countries?

I like how lively these forums can get when we get numbers that some like and some don't like!
