The lead designers of the game Harvey Smith who has worked on Deus EX, System Shock and Theif: Deadly Shadows. And Raf Colantonio who worked on Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic should explain the gameplay similarities.

Also the art director is Viktor Antonov who worked on Half-Life 2 as the lead designer of City 17.

Then it's not a rip-off, it's their own original styles put together! If before knowing it it didn't look bad at all to me, now it looks even better and more interesting. Great!
