Forums - Website Topics - how to prevent my display pic being copied?

Actually there is a way to prevent people from stealing your pictures. You need to purchase some software though, and it's expensive...plus it costs 10 cents per image blocked. I choose not to block my avatar here because it'd get too expensive...but it's totally possible. It not only takes off the option to save image, it also prevents people from "printscreen-ing" and copying your image in any way!

thats what i mean. when you right click on the picture it usually says

*save picture as

anyway sometimes display picture can take off the option to save picture as and print.

what program do you use?

Sorry, I was just kidding. There's really no way to prevent someone from taking an image off the internet.

You really shouldn't worry about it though...unless you've got a personal stalker following you or something...

Even then...are you or your girlfriend really that paranoid about having a picture online? Nothing's going to happen...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

if you think disabling the right click will prevent ppl taking your pic, you're so wrong. There's always a work-around.

When do we have a steal-jjjackpot-avatar-for-a-day event?

People BenKenobi was sarcastic; there's no way for someone to block you from print screening the image.

The only thing you can do, is add a watermark, galaki said first I know...

Other than that, you can blur your face and your GF face, so in that way nobody would ever want a small blurry pick (Well maybe just twesterm)... nobody would be able to says who or what it is, but in your heart you will know that is your GF and you...

Doh!  My sarcasm meter must be broken...

i have a photo of me n my girlfriend. i scanned to my computer. i use "irfanview" to reseize the image and save the image to different format types etc......

i save my pic as jpeg and then upload it to "photobucket" as a avatar and now i want to use that image as my display avatar on all forum sites.

now since the pic is of me n my girlfriend i dont want people to "right click, save picture as" and copy my picture.

now is there a way to prevent my picture being able to copied?

example:

- if u look at this topic you'll see people's display picture right?

- now if you right click on the display picture a list of options comes up right? most of the times it lists:

* opem

* open link in a new window

* save picture as

* print target

* save picture as

* email picture

etc.........

Well you can use javascript to disable this, but then someone who is slighty internet savy will disable javascript! Or check out the source code!!  Or hit print screen!!!

Are you really that scared of having a picture of yourself online? That's kind of weird.
