In terms of graphics I don't think the PS3 exclusives are really comparable with the Witcher 2 so far. What I've seen from UC2 and KZ2 so far includes linear storyline(albeit a decent one) with stunning set visuals in the background and the "stages" that have been preset before and rarely are altered as you progress, whereas Witcher 2 is shaping up to be a great roaming open world game. Yeah, really comparable. |
The witcher 2 is not open world, it has some larger areas that split up into smaller sub areas which you can walk between but are usally broken up by sets of doors (or narrow corridors or short cutscenes) to hide the loading. There are large detailed vistas but the actual size of the actual playable sub areas while larger than most game levels are not as large as say one of the cities in an Assassin's Creed game or anything.

Firstly, Witcher 2 looks wonderful (on PC and now X360). Clearly, one of us is mad. I played Crysis 2 on maximum settings on PC and wasn't impressed. Tech is great (although a step down from Crysis 1 in some ways), but art is horrendous. Killzone 3, on the other hand, is fantastic. Also, I wouldn't pay much attention to what gaming publications have to say. What do they really know about graphics tech? |
Have you played with the new texture and Ultra setting updates? It looks a lot better.
Very impressive for 360, 343 will have a hard time making Halo 4 look better than this.

Which might as well be open world when compared with the experience that UC, KZ and both GOW provide, the gears and god of war. Can't quote on this piece of shit phone. The areas that I've seen on the pc playthroughs have seemed considerably larger and more dynamic, although the open world statement may have been misplaced in this instance, as its not similar to the freedom that is given in GTA iv and rdr.
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.
