I agree, just make new threads for news and discussion

I rarely enter those "official" threads because of what you said in the OP

Apparently you haven't been in the official bioshock thread. the thread title is always reflected in the op, and not page 5. it's all about convenience.

the post that were in the op are moved to view post, in a post reserved for that content, that way everything stays on the front page. it's a little more work, but it's organized, in order, and not hard to find.

That sounds better, but the comments and discussions are still harder to lookup

It might be slightly better for threads discussing specific games but it's still really annoying in news thread, like the official Nintendo news thread for example, I remember that one was a real mess (sorry ryan)

Yeah, never been inside XP

I haven't played many recent games but still plan to, so I try to avoid seeing too much :B

I agree. I've jumped in one thread to read one of the articles in the title. But I couldn't find it anywhere,,, The least you can do is paste a link in the op

Lol, I actually have no difficulty.

@ marcus

Try having 100 posts each day to jam in a thread. Doubt you will be doing what you said then lol!

Your missing out miz. Most stuff is not worth news. A quick scan will usually get you what you want.

True, that is really the only reason I go to his thread. It's a great quick read!

see i can agree with that. if you'll notice, all the threads listed in my sig, have all been updated, with info related to those games. i figure, why make another thread when i can simply update one i made 2 days ago.

MUGEN, and Ryan in the early part of there respective threads i told this, and neither followed up on my advice, even when Seece commented about the content of a title change in the official Vita thread not being in the op.

even if it's on the last page of the thread. it's much easier and convenient to post/make available in the op.

official game related threads are much different then a news thread, cause news threads can last forever while official game related threads will last about 4 months depending on when they'er made.

i can't say i have mush advice on news threads , other then saying, know when the thread has run its course, have it locked, and post the link to the locked thread in the op of the new one and carry on from their.

it's common sense. no need to drag a thread over filled with content past its death.

I had a problem with this from day one. I even took a thread and changed the title to something like "Who wants to be raped in the ass" or something just to make a point. I changed it back. Some people do this just to have a really successful thread. Personally, I think the power to edit a thread title should be given to Mods and mods alone with the extremely rare exception of some news related threads.

I too must come down on the side of agreement with this. It works for official game threads because that's a relatively narrow scope of information (bits of news as the game creeps up, reviews after it releases), but for consoles or worse, companies, it simply bloats too much too fast.

At the same time, however, there's stuff in, say, Spurgeon's Nintendo news thread that is nice to know, but certainly wouldn't merit its own thread, so there is another side to this story.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I disagree, the news threads like that are perfectly fine. They make sense for their purpose.
