Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 720 Devkit Specs Detailed, Includes 16-Core Processor

Considering both company's financial statuses, if MS was really evil, they could make the next Xbox a monster, sell it at big losses and Sony just would NOT be able to compete power-wise. Oh man we would see  gigantic flip flops here from so many posters it would be dizzying, lol

They might get nailed with federal and state anti-trust laws.

Why would they get nailed? because they have a more powerful product than the competition?

No, because if you undercut pricing too much, you remove the competitive forces of the market.   You're allowed to have a better product, a more powerful product and even a better price.  But when you do certain things like what is suggested above, the intentions are not so much about the consumer but about harming a competiting business.

Look up Anti-Trust Laws, Dumping and Predatory Pricing.  Those 3 things would get MS in a lot of trouble.

If Sony didn't get hit with Dumping and Predatory Pricing at the PS3's launch then MS should be fine.

The PS3's price was far too high for Sony to get hit with any antitrust laws and stuff. If MS launches their next console at an insanely low price, they might get in trouble.

No because both companies took a major hit and the PS3 price was still higher than the X360 price.

????

PS3 dropped 130 GBP in 7 months of release in UK. It was disgusting and desperate to say the least.

It went from 429 GBP on March 27 2007 to 299GBP on October 4 2007.
