Anyway, the expansive world and battle system really won me over. The story was a little weak but just having three characters working together, semi independent (you could choose if you wanted them to be balanced, attack, heal, etc.) and feeding off of each others power made me enjoy the game a lot more than I would have, otherwise. Mass Effect did this, but not exactly the same way. Anyhoo, when I finally got my hands on Mass Effect 2, I was pretty deep into Magna Carta 2. I couldn't stop playing it, even though I wanted to. A lot of people wouldn't get the appeal of MC2 but it didn't matter. I was hooked until the end credits were rolling. Well, Xenoblade gives me the feeling that Magna Carta 2 did except the story is better, the battle system is better, and the controls are better. Graphics are not what I'd hoped but it's not a bad looking game at all. I'll toy with the features on my TV and see if I can make it look a little sharper and more colorful. Voice acting is pretty good so far, too. Music is EPIC. I can see myself letting everything else fall to the wayside while I get sucked into this game. I've spent most of my time so far (only two characters--just got to the first town and took a break until my fam goes to bed. They keep wanting me to do stuff) just running around looking for battles and feeling the game out. I like it. If it does what I hope it does, and based on what I see so far, I can see this game being a satisfying send off to my Wii experience. |
Glad to hear you're enjoying it! The game starts off quite slow, but really gets better after Tephra Cave, and the area after it is the first REAL big area...
The graphics are something you'll learn to live with when you realise just how awesome some of the areas are, scenery-wise. Looking forward to hearing more of what you think, but well done for taking the plunge into it!
