A few years ago, there was a RPG for the 360 called Magna Carta 2. I bought the game because of the character art, mainly. Anyway, the expansive world and battle system really won me over. The story was a little weak but just having three characters working together, semi independent (you could choose if you wanted them to be balanced, attack, heal, etc.) and feeding off of each others power made me enjoy the game a lot more than I would have, otherwise. Mass Effect did this, but not exactly the same way. Anyhoo, when I finally got my hands on Mass Effect 2, I was pretty deep into Magna Carta 2. I couldn't stop playing it, even though I wanted to. A lot of people wouldn't get the appeal of MC2 but it didn't matter. I was hooked until the end credits were rolling.

Well, Xenoblade gives me the feeling that Magna Carta 2 did except the story is better, the battle system is better, and the controls are better. Graphics are not what I'd hoped but it's not a bad looking game at all. I'll toy with the features on my TV and see if I can make it look a little sharper and more colorful. Voice acting is pretty good so far, too. Music is EPIC.

I can see myself letting everything else fall to the wayside while I get sucked into this game. I've spent most of my time so far (only two characters--just got to the first town and took a break until my fam goes to bed. They keep wanting me to do stuff) just running around looking for battles and feeling the game out. I like it. If it does what I hope it does, and based on what I see so far, I can see this game being a satisfying send off to my Wii experience.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it! The game starts off quite slow, but really gets better after Tephra Cave, and the area after it is the first REAL big area...

The graphics are something you'll learn to live with when you realise just how awesome some of the areas are, scenery-wise. Looking forward to hearing more of what you think, but well done for taking the plunge into it!

Datass.

Good news about Xenoblade's sales. An analyst report projects that Xenoblade will be at #3 for NPD which probably puts it at 200k+.

Basically, it will match the tracking of Chartz. I find it really likely since it shouldnt be hard to track just one chain store.  I have to laugh at some guys @ neogaf saying Xenoblade sales wont be higher than 2Ok.

Yeah, I saw that. I think people were expecting since a lot of people imported, it'd hurt the sales. Doesn't seem like that happened though, thankfully!

I'm expecting no adjustments to the sales, or maybe 1-2k down.

I am gonna ask this question. Do you think that they are gonna make a Sequel? And would you like a sequel?
I would love this series to continue, but with new characters and a totally new story.

We know that Monolith is working on a Wii U game and a 3DS game ... but we don't know what kind of games these are.

The ending doesn't really tend to a sequel, as everything was tied up nicely. The only thing which I could think of is that they play the game where Fiora DOESN'T die in Colony 9 at the start, leading to a completely different series of events, investigating different areas of the Bionis and MEchonis.

Of course, with the characters building a new colony outside of the giants', they could create more giants/areas in the world to explore.

Overall, I'd say there could be a sequel, but we'll see...

According to VGchartz Xenoblade sold abot 12k copies this week in NA. Maybe it will make 15k worldwide which would "very cool"(whom have I quoted?)

I'd expect closer to 20k, but yeah. That's not bad. Not bad at all...

Also, I promised you an ending discussion. I'll be writing my thoughts down in the next few hours, so check back then!

The game wrapped up nicely so I don't really see the need for a sequel and not sure they'll make one. What I want though is another game in the vein of Xenoblade and that's what they hinted at already actually. IIRC they said Xenoblade was like a test game for the futurre and they also said they want to compete with Western devs.

I would be fine with a "FF-esque" sequel structure, but old style, not "X-2" style.   Make a Xenoblade 2 or something along those lines that just has loose ties to the first game, maybe a legendary sword, maybe a man/machine element (not totally necessary), and keep the Nopon around.

I would buy that game.

I'll buy two copies if it contains a bunch of stories of the Legendary Heropon that are obvious hyperbole.

Monolith should rather start with the next Xenosaga trilogy, but using most of Xenoblades mechanics.

pwin´ every other villain since 1994

Well... This time could they please find a philosopher who did NOT form the basis of the National Socialist Party of 1930s Germany to inform their game's underlying themes?

I don't know, Xenosaga started off a lot better than a lot of people remember, but it was a very uneven experience. Something space travel-ly like Xenosaga with Xenoblade location level of details could be cool. But I still stick to saying the Nopon must be in this thing somehow. There always needs to be a Heropon from here on out as there are always Chocobo's and Moogles in FF. Whether he is always a permanent party member, or even a villain at one point, doesn't really matter, There just needs to be more Heropon.
