I think I'm going to wait till E3 to see the finished product and the specs given. The rumors are ridiculous though.
Wii U and 3DS combined most assuredly ARE less powerful than PS3/Vita. I figured that was sort of a given. 3DS is significantly less powerful than Vita, and if Wii U is just on par with PS3, then this is no surprise.
Not that power matters, anyway. Xenoblade is one of the best games of the last couple years, and it's running on GameCube 1.5, so this whole debate is pointless.
I doubt it has as many shaders as a 3DS.

I think you are probably right.

Yeah, after 6 years of development, and learning the hardware. The Wii U is doing this in an unfinished, underclocked devkit that was released nearly a year ago. All of that and the fact that Nintendo always outdoes their own tech demos.

But they are familiar with the hardware if the rumors about Wii U being similair to Xbox 360 are to be believed, unlike when the Gamecube and N64 demos were made. The Zelda demo is not a confirmation that Wii U is more powerful than current gen HD consoles.
This is all just speculative though, and I've already said that I expect Wii U to be more powerful than PS3.

How do you come to this conclusion when Nintendo's developers obviously didn't work on Xbox 360 games in the last few years? |
Simply because the hardware would then be about seven old.
