Doubtful. The company probably has no idea about games and the gaming market, or past and present sales. Instead, the company probably focuses on the Apple/ Phone market and wants in on the gaming market because 'people like Farmville and Angry Birds'.

Even looking at the current gap, the 3DS has a 12,000,000+ gap. Assuming that the Vita and 3DS last another 6 years, and the Vita begins to outsell the 3DS today, the Vita would have to outsell it nearly 40k per week on average. EVERY.SINGLE.WEEK. To break even. If it outsells it tomorrow.

I don't know about you, but that seems unlikely.

I own neither of the hand held consoles, but I doubt the Vita will outsell the 3DS - as it's looking now. The only game I Can remember for the Vita is UC; and for 3DS there's OoT, Mario, Mario kart and Icarus... For the moment 3ds has the software - but give the vita another year and let's have this discussion again!

If PSP couldn't do it, the Vita sure as hell won't.

Sony no longer has a monopoly on the handheld Monster Hunters, which is almost singlehandedly what ignited PSP sales in Japan and is probably responsible for a good chunk of its success.

there's far more chance of sony exiting the handheld game market by early 2014 (which imo is a very real possibility) than this happening
