lestatdark; that's one helluva shield, especially for normal!

truckosaurus; Oh, I see. I actually found a somewhat decent Necro amulet with +1 to all skills and some resistance a while back. I always find decent gear for the classes I'm not currently playing...

That usually happens to me as well. I'm struggling to find good Necro pieces while I've got complete sets that are amazing for Barbs and Paladins.

Thankfully, PlugY usually solves that problem by giving me a shared Stash xD.

Well, I'll just have to wait for my CE to be delivered so looks like I'll be missing 12 or so hours if playing oh noes!

Who is in the beta and what are your usernames? Is that info earlier in this thread (I didn't read everything)?

I'm moving along decently with my newly created Necro. The only problem with summoner necros is when you get in tight places. Your army becomes pretty much worthless. Makes me almost want to go to bone spear spell or whatever it is called. I suppose I'll stick with summoner for now but I did see that you can finally reset your skills. They didn't have that option for awhile. Must have been added in one of the last few patches.

Just wait until you get to the fight with Diablo, you'll then see just how bad it can get with a Necro

He instantly wipes the floor with my skellies and golem, even though they went through all of his seal guardians and previous bosses with no issues at all. Why? Because of his frigging red lightning wave attack >_>. Had to do a painfully long strategy of goading him with a golem while my Merc took potshots at him.

And yes, the Reset skills option was added on the latest patch, 1.13

I beat Diablo last night on "players 8" difficulty. My frost mage was wiped out by the first magic/elemental attack. This is the only consistent attack in all of Diablo II that I could never manage to not get severly hurt by, Diablo's other attacks are pitiful, his circle of fire, flame river and melee attacks are a joke compared to that damn magic beam.

I basically just rushed him and hacked away, his melee was barely enough to overcome my paltry 4% life steal but then I had to run away every time he used his magic attack, it basically ate 95% of my HP in a couple of seconds, rendering me vulnerable to his otherwise poor melee and flames. Took me about 8-10 minutes to beat him (including runs into town to buy potions), this appears to be a Blizzard thing, the make enemies with relatively low damage but with truckloads of HP! Izual is the perfect example, he doesn't have enough damage to injure me at all but it took three minutes and 20 durability on my weapon to kill him...

Izual went down rather quickly to me, mostly because of Amplify Damage and 6 skeletons doing almost 90 damage each. But Diablo did take me 8 - 10 minutes too, because the bow I had on my Merc was rather shitty in the damage department (thankfully he dropped a Rare Cedar bow with 2 sockets, so now my Merc does 100 - 120 damage ).

At least Baal doesn't have a magic beam thingy that can almost instant kill anyone, though his Minions of Destruction are going to be a pain for my summo necro.

Well, I now have a 212% Magic Find build, thanks to me finding the Gull unique Dagger which has a 100% Magic Find. Thanks to this, and some severe farming on Players 8 difficulty, I now have completed a lot of sets (Angelic, Berserker, Isenhart, Death's Touch, Artic) and have 3 of the 5 pieces of the Immortal King set, while still being on Normal (have yet to fight Baal, been farming Diablo and Mephisto).

Still, this MF is a bit low compared to what a true MF build could and should have (MF Sorcs can go up to 700% MF).

Edit - Oh shit, found the Undead Crown Unique Item! My Necro is set for Nightmare now!

Classes - Witch Doctor

Description (borrowed from Blizzard again)

Witch doctors are spiritual warriors who summon dead souls and crawling creatures to do their bidding. By surrounding themselves with conjured zombies and vermin, witch doctors are free to assault their enemies with exploding skulls, acrid poison clouds, and wasting curses.

The ability to infect, slow and terrify their enemies gives witch doctors unprecedented control over a battlefield. They can manipulate opposing attacks and movements with debuffs and crowd control spells, rendering enemies easy prey for hungry pets. Witch doctors can also lay down fields of fire and venom that slowly leech life from advancing foes.

Although some witch doctors avoid melee combat in favor of augmenting their pets and crippling their enemies from afar, they are also more than capable of slaying weakened foes with their own hands.

Skills

Witch Doctors use Mana as their ressource for their Active Skills. It's a slow-regenerating ressource but they have plenty of it. Unlike previous classes, we've covered, Witch Doctor don't have any skill that generates ressources so he has to be careful of now spending it too fast or he can get in trouble.

The Witch Doctor really ressembles Diablo II's Necromancer since he has poison spells, can summon minions to help him on his fight, has a number of skills that deal with the undead and some curses (One of which can turn enemies into chicken!).

TruckOSaurus Hype Meter

3/5 - Looks interesting but poison skills aren't really my thing. On the other hand, I'm really interested in the spooky skills that throw zombies at enemies. I will definately try it out soon or later.

What do you think of the Witch Doctor class?
Looks good, I love spell casters 2 28.57%

Look okay, I'm gonna try it out eventually 1 14.29%

My favorite class, it's ... 2 28.57%

I would have prefered the good ol' Necro 2 28.57%

Uninteresting 0 0.00%

Signature goes here!

Now Witch Doctor is where it's at

They took the best from both the Summoning and Poison trees from the Necro on D2 and created a pretty fun class to play (or so I hope). My first class on D3
